Whatever the exact details of this agreement may be, one thing seems clear: the big loser in this war is the US.

They have neither overthrown the regime, nor improved living conditions in Iran, nor achieved any other objective. On the contrary, they have made things MUCH worse for EVERYONE involved. The people of Iran now have to bear the economic consequences of the war; many have been imprisoned or even executed outright because they rejoiced too soon at the prospect of regime change following the US attack, and Iran has now learnt how wonderfully it can bring the whole world – and even the so-called world power – to its knees by blocking the Strait of Hormuz.

Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iran – a new entry in the list of utterly pointless and embarrassing US wars. In fact, I even believe the Iran war is the most botched war of aggression waged by the US in the last 100 years – or indeed ever.

Wird echt Zeit das die Leute mal aufhören den Profi-Fussball zu supporten. Für mich gab es so viele Gründe warum ich als ehemaliger Dauerkartenbesitzer diesem Sport mittlerweile vollständig den Rücken gekehrt habe. Auch die WM werde ich versuchen bestmöglich aktiv zu meiden.

ABER: Die WM hat auch seien Vorteile. Während der deutschen WM Spiele sind Wälder und Parks schön leer und man kann dort entspannt mit den Hunden spazieren gehen.

Das Amt der Präsidentin haben wir noch für ca. 3 Monate inne und endet dann planmäßig nach einem Jahr. Der Nachfolger wird Khalilur Rahman aus Bangladesh werden. Das dürfte bei dieser Stimmvergabe demnach keine Rolle gespielt haben. Erst recht nicht, da der Präsident auch eher organisatorische und zeremonielle Aufgaben übernimmt und nicht mit einem Staatspräsidenten und dessen Befugnisse vergleichbar ist.

The switch between 60 FPS and 144 FPS is probably because I dragged the programme from my second screen (max 60 Hz) over to my main screen, which runs at 144 Hz.

Unfortunately, I can’t make head nor tail of these figures. Does that help you at all?

Why not? If the majority of people now visit the cathedral for tourist reasons rather than to attend a service, then it might as well be treated as a tourist attraction - and, like most tourist attractions, they do cost money.

Sorry to bring this up again, but I’d really like to get it working again.

I noticed today that the CPU usage jumps to ~98% as soon as I start WoW. Even just in the main menu. I had previously started CS as a test to see how it behaves there. In CS, the CPU load stays around 25% even when playing against bots (so not just in the main menu) and with significantly higher graphics settings. So it seems there might be some kind of problem with the CPU?! That said, I’m even less sure how to influence the CPU’s performance and why it suddenly seems to be reaching its limits when running much older games.

I’ve attached a graph showing the CPU usage over time, including the values when launching CS, while on the desktop, and when launching WOW.

It doesn’t really look to me like a photo taken in Europe.

Edit: Just as I’d finished typing this, the console command installed something after about 3–4 minutes. I couldn’t really tell what it was. But then Steam and also CS finally launched. :D I was kind of hoping that it might have fixed WoW ‘by itself’ as well, but unfortunately not.

Something is definitely not right. Today, Steam suddenly wouldn’t start at all. Even though the last thing I did yesterday was play CS. I turned on my PC today and Steam isn’t working anymore. Not at all. No error message or anything…

I must admit that I’m losing some of my enthusiasm for Linux. After over 30 years of Windows, I was actually glad that I finally plucked up the courage to try Linux at the start of the year. After all, there are more and more reasons to avoid Windows these days. But if, every time I restart Linux, I have to worry that some programme will suddenly stop working, it’s really demotivating.
