Ohh yeah lick that Chinese boot, lick it harder. Mmmhhh.
Girl boring guy quirky.
Ah yes, everyone who didn’t have the privilege of growing up with parents who actually care about their child’s hobbies instead of busy verbally and physically abusing them or had the money to spare to buy a working used piano, which I have never personally seen at a thrift store, instead of skipping dinner for a week is obviously making excuses.
While we’re at it, let’s also pretend that being taught by youtube is the same as having a real instructor giving you feedback and on a real piano. I don’t even know why we bother having schools or teachers anymore because after all, anything can be learned from the internet if you just pull yourself up by the bootstraps. Oh and don’t forget you parents better afford to buy you a smartphone or else goodluck watching those tutorials.
Processed meat refers to meat that has been transformed through salting, curing, fermentation, smoking, or other processes to enhance flavour or improve preservation. Most processed meats contain pork or beef, but processed meats may also contain other red meats, poultry, offal, or meat by-products such as blood.
Before anyone asks, no, ‘salt’ doesn’t refer to sodium chloride in this context but rather curing salt or sodium nitrite.
‘Unprocessed ham’ is just a consumer term for ‘uncured ham’, which ironically is still cured, just with sodium chloride and not sodium nitrite. But sure let’s pretend every ‘Ma’am’ asking for nitrite-free ham is just a homeopathic dunce asking for the non-existent.
Make the term ‘man’ gender neutral and make ‘maleman’ the new word for male humans. Then we can have ‘mailmaleman’.
I know it’s not deliberate, but phrases like ‘spineless pussies’ are why women don’t feel welcome on lemmy.
Is lemmy truly a left-leaning platform? Or is it yet another tech-bro circlejerk that cares more about the aesthetics of inclusivity? You all can’t have your cake and it eat it too.
PSA: always check for your cat after starting the washing machine and dryer.
Don’t search for ‘cat washing machine’. The results are gut wrenching to read.
Every is talking about how the headrest it’s made this way for crash safety when it’s blatantly untrue.
The headrest is designed to protect the heads and neck of the average man, not woman. Decades of crash test dummies have all been modeled on the average height and weight of the male body. This is why women are 47% likelier to sustain a serious injury in a crash.
Think of the where the headrest is in the optimal position to protect the driver, and then move that a few inches lower. Adjustable headrest often doesn’t even go low enough to accommodate for many women. There is an actual cutoff height where you are just screwed and expected to die more. Not to mention the user error of forgetting to adjust the headrest from the factory setting of accommodating to the average male height.
This is why so many people are curled up like a shrimp. They are either: short, a woman, or the statistically deadliest of all, both.
People will shit on crystals believers in one breath and tell people to ‘respect other’s religion’ in another or gloat about their MBTI assessment. The cognitive dissonance is unreal.
I don’t believe in either but at least I’m consistent. If you’re not, then you’re just finding an excuse to hate on a hobby that primarily attracts women.
This is the same thing that happens to anything that women likes: pumpkin spice lattes, uggs, horoscopes, tarot cards, rose, etc. It’s seen as trivial and stupid no matter how banal the average person’s interest are regardless of gender.
And if you make her go outside, that’s the death sentence for all three generations in your family

That’s the neat part, you don’t.
No offense, but your comments come off as kind of edgy and from someone who sounds like the most exotic thing they’ve eaten is pineapple on pizza.
Not to be a dick or anything, but I found it funny that you chose to mention him mentioning the political career and his opinion of him. Nice touch, but very much irrelevant. Keep up the good work!

Might have to do with Jubensha getting so popular in China
I think these kinds of comments are harmful to the discourse because there a good deal of nuance missing.
For one, it’s pretty reductive to call them ‘Japanese who’ve done bad things’ when who you’re talking about is dead or on their death beds. That’s not who the monument is for or about.
Historical monuments aren’t for attributing the sins of grandparents to their grandchildren. It’s about humanzing the victims and teaching people of this generation what was allowed to happen in the past. It’s about teaching them the dangers of complacency and the complicit nature of being a bystander.
If it’s worth anything, 4,300 people signed a petition against the removal and many protested in person.
Yes, Japanese people as a whole are severely lacking when it comes to acknowledging the atrocities committed by their country. No, Japanese people today are not personally responsible for them. The better we are at separating acknowledgement from responsibility, the easier time we will have convincing people to remember them.
