Digital refunds isn’t them being good, it’s them getting sued by Australia.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is there a phone brand that sells phones without their company logo?English
1·2 years agoI guess if you have a closed shell case it’d be fine for the screen, but in my experience the screen is the only part likely to break and I’d rather not carry the extra size and weight of a case

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is there a phone brand that sells phones without their company logo?English
4·2 years agoI don’t use a case, just a screen protector. Been through a lot of screen protectors but the phone has taken a pretty solid beating and still functions like new with exception of battery life. Not sure a case is necessary unless Xiaomi make unusually resilliant phones which I think is unlikely.
Digital, haven’t had a working disk drive in like 10 years, two laptops ago was broken, previous and current laptop just don’t come with one.

71·2 years agoYes, pc gamers only care about graphics, that’s why pc is the biggest indie platform, because indie games are known for the best graphics
I’m in Aus, and I basically never eat a proper home cooked meal. I can get a hotdog for $3.50 and outside of super basic food like just rice, or oats, I can’t match that.
We don’t need to talk about how much I waste on drinks though, thats an entirely different problem.
Yeah I’ve had a burger from a place that roughly fit this description, I was really sad when they closed because it was by an extreme margin the best burger I’ve ever had in my life.
Life is significantly worse without that burger.

Technology@lemmy.world•Tech Used to Be Bleeding Edge, Now it’s Just Bleeding | After a decade of scandals and half-assed product launches, people are no longer buying the future Big Tech is selling.English
4·2 years agoIt could be less wordy, it isn’t perfect. I have definitely run into ones that require going through multiple layers of settings though, so this just seems a lot less bullshit than that.
Looking at the image again, default to not sharing while calling that ‘on’ and being slightly awkward is definitely not an accident and is probably designed to trick people paying no attention at all.
Adaptive Cruise is my 2nd favourite tech in cars, only beaten by reversing cameras.
Some dickhead doing 70 in a 100 zone? That’s my cars problem, not mine, it’ll deal with it for me.

9·2 years agoI mean, isn’t that the better way of doing it? One popup, exains everything, gives you the option to opt out in that popup instead of going through settings and shit.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What would happen if you used ultrasonic/UV sterilization on fully cooked food?English
1·2 years agoIf you had it thin enough it could, just uv penetration x2 because use uv on both sides. Not sure how thin the pieces would have to be though.
Still exists in cardboard form, not entirely sure why people wouldn’t know what this is at basically any age, unless they buy no bread products?

Gaming@lemmy.world•Valve's fear of Nintendo's lawyers forces it to takedown Portal 64 DemakeEnglish
12·2 years agoIts an unreleased official Nintendo piece of code and Nintendo will absolutely sue over it, even if the game isn’t Nintendo property in any other way.
It in theory could run on a n64 or whatever it was coded for, and without Nintendo permission or the code being public, that isn’t allowed. Nintendo would sue purely because they are an extremely litigious company and will sue or send cease and desists to anything they even remotely can.
I’m not entirely sure if Nintendo can go after valve on it if valve is hosting it, but I think there are issues with hosting illegal content that probably cover it.

Games@lemmy.world•What's your favorite game that you will NEVER finish?English
2·2 years agoI have an i9 13900, so uh, it isn’t exactly a mid tier CPU.
Stellaris just can’t have a full, long game without eating shit at the end frame wise.
edit: i9 13980HK, slightly wrong model, point stands as its a very high end CPU that’ll beat the snot out of anything normal. Stellaris is actually just brutal to run end game.

Ah yes, my comment openly states I hate steam because it isn’t perfect. It’s definitely written in there.
