When I last time looked into it, you couldn’t receive calls when the phone sleeps. It works on PinePhone Pro because the modem is a separate board and can wake the phone. This is why I’m curious 🙂

What about calls? Can you receive them reliably?
Wow, that’s very impressive!

2·9 days agoI use it just as a regular second screen - guides, videos.
If you don’t use it for anything, launchers like Cocoon will display the game logo + status bar with info like battery, time, notifications, etc. The launcher sets the brightness to minimum when you don’t use it, but the status bar is still visible this way. You can see this in action on my post photo.

Gaming@lemmy.world•GTA 6 Will Be 30FPS At Launch, Rockstar Reportedly Not Sure About 60FPS Performance ModeEnglish
3·11 days agoIt’s expected, given that the base PS5 was released six years ago.
But did they use a PS5 dev kit to develop this? I’d expect a game with this level of fidelity to be developed on something more powerful, like a PC, to unlock its full graphical potential. But at the same time, we’re not getting a PC release on day one. I suspect they just have a deal with Sony 😞

3·11 days agoDo you mean, is there a bigger-screen version of this handheld? No, but it’s about the size of a 3DS.
There are plenty of larger single-screen handhelds, though.

3·11 days agoYes, it runs great without breaking a sweat.
Is it better than just running the native android app
It allows me to run tModLoader, which I can’t do with the Android version of the game.
I have the 12 GB version. I bought it at launch.
How’s the battery life? It was my main issue with the PinePhone (Pro).
And they will be selling it at the current house prices, keeping all the reduced cost to themselves.
What’s the point of insurance then? Sounds like a waste of money.
Whoa, I heard that in the US you have to pay for an ambulance, but $1,400? And this is with insurance?
I like the wallpaper! Can you share a link to it? 🙂

6·1 month agoI agree about universal links, but I’d also highly recommend Lemmy Universal Link Switcher plugin. There is also a similar one for Mastodon.
Not sure how it’s related, but it’s an interesting article 🤔
Strange that they did this after the price reveal. Could they have decided that it’s not very profitable and maybe the case required further adjustments (like it doesn’t fit or melts since they developed it before they could get a prototype), and this is why they canceled it entirely? LTT had a companion cube, but they never put it on the Steam Machine.
Source packages are a thing.
AUR is a repository for source packages (in Arch it’s called PKGBUILD) from users. You can write PKGBUILD yourself or just download it from AUR if someone already made it.
There is this one: https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/buildbtw/

Awesome, thanks for the update!
If you later decide to create a post with your experience after some time of use in this sub, I’m pretty sure it will be very appreciated 🙂
