Tbh I don’t want to cancel him or anything, his code is better than mine and on the whole he seems about as okayish as @db0. I dont think he’s gonna go mad with power and pull an Elon with Pixelfed, and I think he’s probably a good dude offline. Like, at worst I might accuse him of being a libertarian or an ancap. He’s probably fine.

Dansup is the only dev of both Pixelfed and loops.video because he does not not want to share the spotlight. On 12/09, Pixeldroid (a FOSS client) was released. Dansup took this as a personal insult, so when he released his own app he started attacking users of other clients (which were his fans)

Minor correction: the word for this is paramagnetic. Paramagnetism happens when a molecule has unpaired electrons, whereas diamagnetism happens when a molecule has no unpaired electrons. You’re pretty much entirely right, though

Oh let me tell you about the D&D campaign I’m in. The first six months were nuts: We got hired to pick one of the emperor’s 60-something kids to be appointed as the heir. By the time we left, there were four kids left alive.

Last session was a bit nuts. We got an angel fired from his job because he was bullying a snail, then had to resolve a custody battle between a coven of witches. We are level 4.

1. I already know pokemon. I’m making an active effort to not be into pokemon anymore.

2. As a kid i wasnt allowed to watch tv or play videogames, so I’ve been trying to catch up on the childhoods everyone else had.

3. Trying to get out of MTG, not interested in the Pokemon TCG or the One Piece TCG because their mechanics aren’t interesting to me, and there is no amount of money you could pay me to deal with the average Yu-Gi-Oh player. The Digimon TCG seems cool, though.

Okay, that chart is, like, 5 difference systems of measurement pretending to be one unit of measurement. The imperial system is bad, but it’s not quite as bad as that chart.

That said, I like how most imperial units are at a scale that feel nice. Like, most things you measure in feet are no more than 10 feet long, most things you measure in yards are less than a dozen yards long. Also, it’s nice that at 0° F you know road salt isn’t gonna work.

I have mixed feelings about that. He is very obviously a fan of the big tech companies and seemed a bit miffed that we all got so upset about #Threads trying to #federate
