Yeah. I just had my first run in with an issue that I ended up using the Terminal to fix. I use audio from my monitor that’s connected to my Nvidia GPU and it was having a 1-3 second audio delay. It was a power idle default and I had to make some adjustments and get it saved. Still not 100% sure how it works. With how rough google is to search for things I was using chatGPT to help me out. While it worked I don’t know how. I imagine as time goes on I’ll get more comfortable with it.

I’ll check that link this weekend when I have more time.
I have limited experience with terminal. I used it to update Mint last year when I tried but had to read a lot of forums just to know what to type.
I have no idea what btrfs is or gamescope. I’ll look them up soon.
I did find the flat pak to help install programs and got a few loaded already.
Agreed. I’m working towards that goal. I think the biggest hurdle is if a game runs on Windows but not as well on Linux I might opt to finish the game on Windows. Even with proton I did find a game I was playing recently was noticeably lower quality or “laggy”

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Retired WoW players, how does that part of your life shade your current life?English
7·1 month agoI left because of things the company was doing. I liked being part of a community that aligned with my interests.
I miss being able to play with people like that. The challenge of raids were fun and I took a lot of pride in the progress we were making.
Honestly it’s been lonely. I’ve tried to play other games with people but it felt disconnected and eventually I walked away from that and only played single player games.

2·3 months agoSo here’s the deal. I can’t understand people. Between the ADHD and general hearing issues I would pay a lot to have the ability to have subtitles on people. I feel left out on a lot of conversations due to not being able to follow along.

Privacy@programming.dev•Stock Android users, are you considering switching your phone to another OS such as /e/os, GrapheneOS, LineageOS?English
3·3 months agoI would if I could. I only found out Verizon has some bullshit lock on my phone that prevents me from at least trying GrapheneOS. Likely the last time I buy from them and I’ll bring my own device next time.
If anyone knows a way around the Verizon lock let me know.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you lose alot of fat quickly with no exercise?English
16·5 months agoI’ve been a bodybuilder for six months and this is my take. The diet is big. Remove excess junk from your food and focus on eating nutrient dense foods. I go hard and measure all my food in grams so I have consistency with my food. Do you have to do this monk level BS? No but I’m pushing myself for health reasons and want to see where it will take me. If you can do four to five meal breaks per day. You just eat a lot less per sitting. It helps keep hunger pains away and I never feel like I’m starving or so full I’ll burst.
If you find your caloric needs per day you can slowly enter a deficit. KEY. Deficit is not starving yourself. So don’t think you can do 1/2 your daily needs and magic will happen. Something will happen but not what you’ll want in the end.
Be safe. Be smart. Good luck.

politics @lemmy.world•National pride is declining in America. And it's splitting by party lines, new Gallup polling showsEnglish
12·5 months agoWhat did we expect? Government is looking out for itself or anyone big enough to pay for a seat at the table.
Republicans appear to be driven by hate and ignorance of the things they do
Democrats appear to do nothing for the people either.
We have lost faith in the courts ability to stand up for the rule of law. Sure we protest. Yell at our elected officials but at the end of the day it seems like we keep picking the worst thing and diving head first.
I know I’m projecting a bit here but it’s so exhausting to keep up and it wears us out
Sure keep voting for what you want and what not. Doesn’t help with it’s red vs blue and both sides are a shit sandwich and the only choice for sides are bigotry or compliances.

3·6 months agoIt’s interesting. Normally I just go with the flow of the game but this is the first time I’ve used the steam notes feature. At first it was little bits of information. Then it got a bit deranged as things went on. I won’t spoil anything but it’s weird and I find it interesting in spite of the fact that I hate puzzle games. Like really hate.

6·7 months agoI actually really like the look of it. It’s so ugly.
Also paint. I hate seeing paint chips on my car. I know I can wrap but that’s an extra expense to eat.
I just can’t see myself buying a new Tesla due to the damage Elon has caused. It’s a shame because my current Tesla is a wonderful car, in my opinion.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Home owners of Lemmy do you have any advice on dealing with the stress of owning a home?English
2·9 months agoFind the little things that are easy to fix. Recently I had two sections of my laminated flooring that started to peel. I got some low profile transaction strips and set them up. Worked out that the area to repair the actual divide between my living room and dining room so it looks like it was supposed to be there.
It’s nice. I paired it with a solar generator so my electricity usage is way down. Sure it takes longer but half the time I forget to put clothes into the dryer when I had two units for several hours.
It’s washes then moves tona drying mode. This is one of those all in one units. I wonder if the amount of towels I add is causing this.

OMG yes. I kept trying to paste information and mucking it up. OR taking screenshots doesn’t automatically load the image to clipboard like windows.
