My girlfriend in high-school had an imaginary friend when she was a child. By the time we had met and got together he was in jail for murder I think. That was the end of the friendship.

That seems a little disappointing. I don’t use TikTok so not overly familiar with anything about it, but 2000 seems a bit excessive. Like I could maybe see a max of 3. 2 for something you really like and then 3 for something amazing or something you love.
I live in America, so my apologies if I seem a little biased.
I got the feeling that a large portion of the world is interested and paying attention to what appears to be the downfall and collapse of the largest “super power” on the planet. I imagine many people outside the country would be interested in attempts to combat/slow/reverse what for all intents and purposes is the biggest economic and military nation in the world going full fascist, even if it’s just symbolic.
I have no idea what sources are credible anymore at this point, so my apologies if I got this wrong. https://philkoopman.substack.com/p/people-are-still-being-burned-alive I will admit that the wording of my previous statement was not the best. It’s certainly not them doing it in their own, it’s the result of a crash or the like, but to clarify I meant without accelerants. And it’s not them locking the doors, but the power to the locks failing because of the fire or damage in the crash and them not having manual locks.
I wasn’t paying very close attention to the stories when they first started circulating, I imagine I’m not the first or last to have that takeaway just from casual observation.
Don’t they sometimes just go up in flames on their own and lock the doors preventing anyone inside from getting out?
Yeah, I assumed it wasn’t too keep him under control, but because of the hero worship he’s receiving.
He looks a lot like him yeah. So I had to look it up, it’s Jon Cryer… the other guy from Two and a Half Men.
Probably not the worst I ever read, but whenever a question such as this comes up my mind immediately goes to one of the Tarot books by Piers Anthony. I don’t remember which one, it was just in a pile of books people left in a dorm one time and I had nothing to read. I finished it, but I can’t tell you anything about it other than the vague recollection that I hated it.
As far as I can tell from a cursory Google search is the original said “Russian neighbors”
I will also say it’s hard to choose. I suppose it really depends on my mood or feelings at the time. However that being said, Pod People is the most memorable to me, followed extremely closely by Cavé Dwellers.
Even honey isn’t okay with some (I have no idea the %, could be most or just a small number) of vegans. So regardless of how the blood was obtained, there is at least some who would not consider it vegan.
Not a fan of Bush or the GOP but the Wikipedia article basically refutes that he was flummoxed…
Whereas here Mr. Vance’s cringe is kind of palpable.
I’m confused, I thought this was a picture of two gaping assholes.
This belongs in /c/aneurysmposting. I can’t remember how to link to communities in lemmy.
Really depends on how you do it, just ask Putin for advice, I’m sure he can give you all the ins and outs.
Depending on the accent, that’s a pretty good little poem.
I don’t think you’re really making any Americans feel bad, we’re pretty good at doing that all by ourselves. Also I’m sure plenty of people would like to leave, they just can’t for a variety of reasons. Money and very strict immigration rules (of other countries) being the top two but they’ve already been mentioned. It’s also very difficult to leave your family and move somewhere where you know virtually no one for a lot of people, even if they meet the previous requirements.
Dunno if Dune fits.
If we’re talking about Paul, he’s the result of over ten millennia of a secret breeding program by the bene gesserit (albeit a generation earlier than planned) AND royalty.
I love Dune more than anything outside of Hitchhiker’s Guide, but I don’t think Paul really fits here. He’s double special before the spice.
… oh
