Their strategy has always been “go so fast no one can keep up with the awful things, and pile controversies to cover up controversies”. A slow durable administrative action that respects separation of powers and doesn’t treat the executive as a godking was never in the cards.
17·1 month agoThis is capitalism people. Hire a parent doula. Let them do the busywork of digital parenting like minding internet activity, scheduling playdates, managing ad blockers, paying the Roblox allowance, or whatever largely digital activity your kids are involved with.

Nah. Power is just the potential to do work. Clever electrical engineering just takes advantage of the teensy pushes and pulls to do that work. Like pushing a swing, I don’t move but my kid sure can go high when I apply those pushes and pulls at the right time.

I spun up immich on my computer and it does basically everything you’re asking for. Its duplication detection is pretty good, but definitely tweak the parameters so you don’t get too many false positive matches.

Oh buddy if only my setup was simpler. Between Ubuntu and Snap and external NTFS hard drives, I’ve got work to do to get this working.
Why do you think they’re buying so much AI shit right now? To filter through the noise for whatever they want to find. People aren’t the bottleneck anymore.
