Und nur weil laut Karte irgendwo ne Ladesäule existiert, heißt es auch nicht, dass die immer auch frei ist wenn man laden muss. Es sind keine anekdotischen Einzelfälle; denn wen man zur Miete in einem Mehrfamilienhaus ohne Stellplatz mit Lademöglichkeit wohnt und nicht auf Arbeit laden kann und es eben im direkten Umfeld keine Ladesäule gibt, bedeutet ein BEV zusätzlicher Zeitaufwand im Vergleich zum Verbrenner. Und diese Situation ist nichts spezielles, viele Menschen befinden sich in diesen Umständen. Und beim Einkaufen zu laden ist auch nicht ausreichend, wie vorher schon gesagt, wenn die Ladesäule da kein Schnellader ist und man eben nur wöchentlich einkaufen geht.

Damit ich doppelt so lang zur Arbeit brauch und dadurch früher aufstehen muss und später nach Hause komme und somit noch weniger Freizeit hab? Nein danke. Ich bleib beim Auto, selbst wenn die Spritpreise auf 3 Euro den Liter hochgehen.

Well, the IT job market can change very quickly, so it is very difficult to predict what the job market will look like when you enter it in around 6 years (I assume that’s how long it will also take in the US to get a Bachelor + Master?). It could be that in 6 years the AI bubble has popped and dumb managers will realize that AI can’t replace every Software Developer.

I’d say go ahead and study CS, and if you can’t find a job as a Software Developer, you can then look in neighboring IT fields, such as System Administrator, where you (for example) have to administrate Linux servers, and since you say you already have experience with this, it should give you an advantage in applications.

Because humans are creatures of habit, and as long as stuff works for them, even suboptimally, a lot of people aren’t inclined to change their habits, even if it might mean a change would improve their lives. As long as sth is “good enough”, there simply isn’t an incentive for change.

Also, since there isn’t a huge corporation behind Linux, there is literally no direct advertisement for it, so people who aren’t into tech simply never will get in touch with it.

I agree that tobacco products should be heavily taxed, but should cigarettes be banned outright? I’m not sure banning is the right way to go, I mean just look at what the prohibition of alcohol back then did. A thriving, unregulated black market. People should be able to buy cigarettes, that way they can be sure of what it is they are smoking.
