@citizenk @filippodb @sicurezza Ne ho sentito parlare ieri in altro post su questa campagna. E mi immalinconisce constatare quanto si continui a parlare di divieti, boicottaggi, ecc senza mai prendersi lo spazio per mettere sul tavolo anche il fatto che queste tecnologie (dispositivi indossabili) per le persone con disabilità sensoriale e cognitiva possono essere come delle protesi. Vedenti che decidono di stigmatizzare gli occhiali con fotocamera a prescindere, senza sentire la nostra opinione. Vigliacchi. Ci lasciano fuori dai giochi, così noi restiamo senza difesa. Se si decide “vietiamo gli occhiali per il danno alla riservatezza”, danno assolutamente presente e pericoloso, se una persona cieca li indossa per farsi descrivere i reperti di un museo chiusi in una teca o una persona sorda legge i testi scritti dagli occhiali (quelli con display) poi veniamo trattati anche noi come potenziali spie. E non possiamo difenderci né da questo, né tanto meno dalla sorveglianza isterica di massa a cui Meta ci espone, e che anzi ci usa per rendere questa tecnologia sregolata anche, perché no, trattando noi come cavalli di Troia -tipo i bambini kamikaze-.
Invece noi vorremmo qualcosa di più. Dispositivi indossabili con tecnologie locali, cifrate, che ci possano aiutare tenendo al sicuro la riservatezza nostra e altrui. Obbligo di feedback visivo e audio per esempio, e se li modifichi sono inutilizzabili per esempio…

@Sicofante @filippodb @sicurezza Esattamente come Meta non evita le truffe perché gli fruttano una bella percentuale di fatturato. Io dubito che una qualunque azienda non lavori per guadagnare, il problema è il COME lo si fa. E ultimamente anche il discorso norme, viene spinto dal profitto cioè paghi i giudici affinché interpretino la legge a favore tuo. Accade a Trumpio, accade a Muskio, accadrà anche a Zucchino.

@filippodb @sicurezza Questi cacchio di vedenti che vogliono guardare più di quello che dovrebbero (per quel che mi riguarda lo fanno già, anche senza occhiali, quando ti siedi e ti guardano le tette. Quando ti chini e ti guardano il culo).
A me fa arrabbiare questa cosa degli occhiali perché la pericolosità è la mancanza di regolamentazione e di etica nella loro distribuzione. Meta ha anche dato a bassi prezzi, o regalato non ricordo, dei rayban ai veterani ciechi; anche qua in Italia ci sono delle convenzioni per far avere a noi questi occhiali. Però poi cosa succede? Diventa come la verifica dell’età “per proteggere i bambini” che poi serve a tutt’altro. E io mi sono pure rotta le tole di sentire da una parte quelli che ignorano i problemi di privacy e sorveglianza, con la scusa di quanto queste tecnologie possano essere utili per i ciechi. E quelli che rompono le tole a me perché ho gli occhiali addosso, preoccupati che io possa spiare mezzo mondo. Questi occhiali devono essere progettati per aiutare, non per essere pericolosi.

I stopped for a while working on my personal website as I had to translate another big project from English to Italian; but now I took it in hands again, and guess what - the redirect from “/wp” to the domain does no longer work. Reachable just via domain . ext / wp / page-name. But I configured nginx differently.
I’ll check what happens…again…

@irmadlad The huge problem is that most documentation is in video format or full of information conveyed just by colors. In this, I have to admit, AI helps. As I can ask it to find what I need, and explain strings in human readable language. Well, of course if I have an idea of what I’m doing at least as principle. Such as “explain in words why this nginx rule doesn’t work, why test has failed”

@selfhosted @_elena First fail:apps requesting REST API access, don’t accept the “/wp/” configuration. Tomorrow I’ll try again with a more reliable machine, smartphone can’t be used for this purpose. I’m so disappointed by the first fail! As it is now, I can’t rely on mobile and external clients such as #quill and #ulysses

Our presentation page is up, and I’m impressed as the site seems super-fast. I won’t try activitypub at the moment, maybe next week.
Content for now, no visuals, it’s still the default WordPress theme; I’ll however continue using Gutenberg block editor for site design, sighted lady will help me with styles, sizes, colors, flags, logo. For now I have what I need: my best friend in POSITIVE (pun very intended) mood ☣️ and my intermediate web dev technical skills, let me build nav bar and HIV glossary before anything else, testing new multi-language echosystem.

Before starting involving the sighted designer I want the interface to work properly.

Detail: I had to create a solo Nginx conf file to instruct it to accept main URL, placed on /etc/nginx/conf.d/plusbrothers.net.d/; I can’t deny or hide that for this, AI helped. And precisely, the Hostinger embedded chatbot, trained with main provider base configurations.

Unfortunately YunoHost has a limitation and wants WordPress to be installed into a subdirectory such as domain dot tld slash wp.

And leaving it as it is, with its /wp/ at the end of each content, would have generated 404 errors to folks searching for old posts. I wanted to have at least the presentation page published, within July 3rd - the day where New York Times in 1981 talked of HIV for the first time, identifying it as an untreatable disease affecting 41 homosexual men.

And the weird destiny is that my best friend, and content writer for this project, was born July 3rd 1975. 6 years later AIDS come out in the USA. He’s gay, and turned poz (HIV+) in 2013 due to a cheating partner.

I’m going to prepare the multisite network with WordPress and YunoHost first, it has some limitations and I had to create some tricks to make it work - I’ll talk about it in deep. Then, will place the WP theme and start working on the user experience, the blocks part of design at least; then at last a sighted designer will help me with colors, styles, size, the visual part I can’t control.
Multisite network, to make it multilingual (Italian and English) using blocks only, as all multilingual plugins I’ve tried so far, have severe accessibility issues!

I’m in the second phase of the experience. Domain transferred, DNS zone editor adjusted accordingly, letsencrypt set, YunoHost running “success!” in every aspect.

In a few hours, I’ll place WordPress multisite and try my new experiments on my VPS.

PlusBrothers, poz world, the Agony Ass, and Fernando the sentient virus, will come back home.
