  • They sell the hardware at a loss and initial adopters are more likely to be able to find an exploit that allows the console to play pirated games. If a Lite comes out early enough, there’s hope that it might be exploitable.

It’s my understanding that the Steam Deck is not performant when it comes to running Switch games via Yuzu/Ryujinx so it would probably be even worse with Switch 2 games, which are probably more taxing to emulate.

All that said, I have a Switch Lite that I share with my wife and I like it. There are so many companies you’re “not allowed” to buy from according to Lemmy lol, I don’t have the time for that. Almost all publishers are ass, should I never buy a game again?

Edit: As pointed out, Nintendo consoles are not sold at a loss.

  • If it were me, I’d major in accounting or physiotherapy and, if possible, minor in a language (probably Mandarin).

I’m sure you’ll have enough electives for a language minor if you’re dedicated to it, but sometimes there are other fun courses that you want to take more, like abnormal psych or some cool topic in literature or an intro computer science course.

If you don’t like what you’re studying, don’t be afraid to change your major. It’s not the end of the world and you’ll probably be happier.

  • Security deposits are a type of refundable fee where a tenant pays a specific amount (often many hundreds of dollars) to a landlord to “ensure” that they don’t damage a residence while living there. If the residence is damaged, the landlord keeps the deposit. The term is derived from contract law where “security” just means a way to make sure that a party to a contract meets their contractual obligations.

There are many instances where a landlord illegally keeps the deposit over damage that was either already existing or minimal (also referred to as “wear and tear” damage, which is expected when you live somewhere long-term), so OP is calling for the courts to determine the extent of damage to prevent landlords from taking advantage of tenants.

In some jurisdictions (like the one I live in), security deposits and most other related deposits such as key deposits (i.e., a refundable fee paid to obtain a key to the residence) are completely illegal in order to eliminate the possibility entirely.

  • Hmm, I guess if you’re happy with the output here that’s all that matters. For me, the visual elements look really uninspired and mediocre. But if you’re still in the startup/iteration stage then I suppose the unfinished look makes sense.

I guess it’s a good place to start? Maybe? Depends if the code is easy to maintain. I was more interested in how you feel the AI adds to your existing coding workflow, but maybe you aren’t a professional programmer? I am getting the impression that the AI is doing most of the work here but maybe I have the wrong idea.

  • Materially, that doesn’t really matter. Most people are not reading his posts the second he makes them, so the majority of people who saw this post saw the image.

Removing Snopes’s involvement here, the fact is that people generally don’t share links without at least visiting them first. When you visit the article’s permalink, you are instantly greeted with the image.

Since he is so prolific on Truth Social and understands what happens when you post a link to the platform (and he owns it), he likely knew what image would be fetched even if he didn’t read the article itself.
