politics @lemmy.world•AOC surges to lead in 2028 primary for first time
2·19 小时前Yea, but it doesn’t make me garbage, it makes the system garbage. Electing a true progressive in 2028 is our last chance to avoid a revolution.
Absolute tech jank, indicative of people who don’t know what they’re doing.

Technology@lemmy.world•Lithium deposit valued at over $1.5 trillion discovered in the U.S.English
1·2 天前The mountain gold itself has no value until extraction begins and the gold is applied to help benefit someone’s life. The value of something is derived from a human directly benefiting from it. Only until the lithium is mined and used to do something that helps improve someone’s quality of life then it hasn’t realized its value yet.

3·2 天前Soaking before with a small amount of hydrogen peroxide, then colander and rinse after soak period. Careful water level management. Covered with a dome. Spray with mister twice a day, diluted hydrogen peroxide mix about 1%. If the seeds are smelling that’s the beginning of anaerobic conditions. I’ve got the process mostly here https://masland.tech/microgreens/

1·2 天前If you’re homeless then at your current time it’s valueless. It’s like being told “there’s an abundance of food being grown… in 5 years” and you die of starvation.

1·2 天前How do you know they’ll do that? What if it just sits in the ground for a million years, does it have any value then?

1·2 天前No it’s not, I don’t value it at all because I can’t actually use it for anything right now.

10·2 天前I find this perspective funny nowadays, and I want more people to question it, really question it. It’s valued at over $1.5 trillion? No, it’s worth nothing if it just sits there doing nothing. If you worded it as “Could be worth…” then I’d give it a pass. But don’t let yourself be fooled, that lithium has absolutely no real value if it’s not mined and put towards something that someone can use to improve their quality of life.
Yeah exactly, we don’t pay our workers a living wage in the USA, it’s very well documented at this point. It’s a pay problem.
It’s also because they pay their workers a living wage, which we don’t in the USA.

A movie seems like a terrible idea for a first date, you spend all that time watching the movie instead of actually focusing on each other. Coffee is one of the best things to do.
