I can’t comment on aoe2 specifically but Halo Infinite (through steam) and Minecraft both use my Microsoft account just fine on Linux Mint.

Parallels to The Expanse too

All my friends and I have felt this way for a few years now. My wife and I are planning to spend $200 total on Christmas and that’s including the dinner we’ll likely host for friends.

Halloween is fun and my wife and I get into it but it’s also becoming a very commercialized thing around us. Everyone buying the massive 12 ft skeletons and trying to outdo each other with the yard and giving out bigger and bigger treats. Someone was handing out full Doritos bags this year, not the single serve, we’re talking family size.

I think my wife and I are going to try getting into Mari Lwyd next year instead.

I do some volunteer work on localizing for Welsh and some Spanish. AI translations are hot garbage still even for the larger languages like Spanish. You can get a general idea of the intent most of the time, but that’s about it. It’s nowhere near good enough to replace humans with yet, definitely not good enough to overwrite what they’ve already translated.

Of course a sheep cheese philistine would argue in the comments. Get on the Llama cheese level

If AI can do your job in minutes you’re either: A fool pumping out AI slop someone else has to fix and you don’t realize it.

Doing a job that really shouldn’t exist.

LLMs can’t do more than shove out a watered down average of things it’s seen before. It can’t really solve problems, it can’t think, all it can do is regurgitate what it’s seen before. Not exactly conducive to quality.

My buddy and I weren’t doing so hot last year and used Halo Infinite as our therapy. Pretty sure both of us alternated between being called a bot and a cheater every other match. It’s amazing sometimes just how bad you can do and still be called a cheater. (High plat to low diamond lobbies, we weren’t amazing)

Moore’s “law” died back in 2016. It’s not held for a while now. The only way they can scale the way they want without a major breakthrough is more power and larger machines

There’s no need for block chain over a regular database for any of that.

Or enough Chinese food with leftovers for another meal or three.
