Is investing the right term here, or am I going by an incorrect definition? Investment to me seems to imply a future return, which seems impossible for KDE. Is this then rather a donation?

I’d go one further: If bribing lobbying was proven, the politicians should not only be removed, they should also be just as liable for damages as the company is/should be.

It seems to me markets without currency are rare and temporary, so I don’t see markets working in this world of yours. Only way I see this possible is when the tribe’s surplus was never claimed. In a myriad of different tribal constellations, having none that assigned the surplus stockpile seems very unlikely. So this world can only exist before central stockpiling it seems to me. A bit like the description of the Native Americans in Engels’ Family, Private Property and the State.

Authoritarian communists vs libertarian communists – but the libertarian there tripped me up into a state of doubt. Marxists vs anarchists could’ve done as well, but it might not necessarily be linked to communism or socialism at all, and just saying something about the nature or cause of authoritarianism, hence the dumbing down to non-authoritarian.

Hmm I can’t say I have the same experience, but perhaps I did not dig down deep enough during those conversations into their relationships with their parents.

It always seemed to me the difference between an authoritarian and a non-authoritarian socialist/communist was based on their view of other people: the authoritarians I spoke with usually regarded people as flawed and in need of guidance, whereas non-authoritarians seemed to believe people are inherently good but corrupted.

In June 2016, documents leaked to the press indicated that in 2010, European Commission officials had been warned by their in-house science team that at least one car manufacturer was possibly using a NOx-related defeat device in order to bypass emission regulation.
