Do bathroom fans even exist outside of the US? I’m mostly joking, but seriously did not see a single one while staying in Japan or Europe.

…stay for the empathy?? Lmao

I’m not in one of those states, but Google recently told me they couldn’t verify that I was an adult… for my business account that Google definitely knows is a business.
So they changed some of my settings, which basically amounted to them tracking me less and not personalizing ads for me. I think I’m just going to leave it. Apparently you don’t need to be an adult to run their business analytics or advertise with them or whatever. Somehow they seem to know that my personal account belongs to an adult. All my accounts are linked and under the same name, so I’m not sure why they can’t figure out the other two.

Sealab 2021

I’m confused. Is it just users furnishing the gov with usernames? Or is it mods, who could potentially have access to a user’s email used to sign up with their instance? Do mods have access to that, or just admins?

To add to that, the US is almost certainly responsible for Canada’s opioid problem. Don’t blame Vancouver.

I saw some of these at a thrift store once. $1 each. Even at that price, I doubt there were many takers.

Seems like El Salvador would fall under that definition. I wonder if they’re trying to make it so journalists and senators can’t visit the countries they’re deporting people to.

So far, Cashapp is still offering free filing. Feels weird to use it, but it’s worked out fine for the past few years. I refuse to go back to TurboTax and their predatory free-until-its-not pricing.

Just go on the Nextdoor app. There certainly are people still rooting for everything he’s doing and salivating at the thought of ICE coming to “save” our blue state. It’s always been weird to me that while we have total freedom to move anywhere within the country, these fuckers choose to live in a blue state and just complain about it constantly.
Humans have always understood our experience through stories and myths. Literally every civilization throughout history has them. It’s the people who refuse to consume any fiction that I don’t understand. Even when a story is entirely fictional, surely there is still meaning in metaphor and juxtaposition and human understanding to be found.
My friend had her uterus removed and they still force her to take the standard pregnancy test when she comes in. Like, it’s right there in the chart that it’s not physically possible!

We literally made a law that says bartenders and restaurants can’t refuse to serve alcohol to pregnant women if they order it. While not based on religion, I feel like this sets a pretty strong precedent.

Why would anyone assume we won’t know what’s in lab grown meat? If we make it, we will know.
Also, it’s pretty hilarious to watch people suddenly freak out about not knowing what they’re eating. People try foreign foods all the time without knowing what’s in them. I’ve had servers who didn’t know ranch dressing contained mayo. Can you name every ingredient in tiramisu, or bouillabaisse, or penang curry? You wouldn’t think twice about eating those.

Yall keep saying soldiers are too young to carry guns. Then why the fuck are they allowed to be soldiers??

And when California passes regulations, they often end up being adopted nationally, because most companies want to sell their products in the large market that is California but don’t want to have to differentiate their product or service for different states. This causes a lot of resentment among the GOP.

This is why healing is so important. They didn’t heal, instead they harbored a grudge. It’s just like an abused child growing up and abusing their own children. Some people are unable or unwilling to do the work to break the cycle.

Change the mom to a restaurant and it makes more sense. The whole point of paying a restaurant is that each person can get whatever meal they want simultaneously, like how the point of cable or streaming services is to have various kinds of content. If the restaurant decides they’re only going to serve one meal no matter what people order, well, most people aren’t going to pay for that. The mom can do whatever she wants because she isn’t getting paid to make all these meals, and her “customers” are children who aren’t allowed to eat anywhere else.

Yeah Oregon and Washington just passed this, it doesnt even take effect until next year.
From the WA State Standard: “Workers will be eligible for unemployment benefits starting 15 to 21 days after the strike begins, depending on the day the strike starts. If the contract is resolved before that time, benefits will not be issued.”
So basically only if the strike goes on for several weeks, and also if the strikers get any retroactive pay then they have to pay back the unemployment. No one can just “strike for a day” and get paid like they’re claiming.
Just fyi I’m pretty sure cervical fusion refers to cervical spinal disks, not the lady bits.
