I likely agree with you about the democrats, but I am not sure I understand what you mean about how she is following them here.
This has more implications than I think most realize. This would also prevent climate engineering or hurricane avoidance efforts. I wouldn’t want just anybody to try these kinds of things without a lot of effort to understand the consequences and public debate, but this seems pretty short sighted.
Gentoo for anything my I use a mouse with, Arch for everything else. I like Gentoo for the customization. For things where I want to run a service, Arch is my go to as it keeps working without drama. Anything complicated, Gentoo is better.

I have never understood the desire to combine the search and the address fields. I occasional search a url when I forget the rules for what it thinks is keyword. It just seems like a scheme to collect more data by bouncing your intended site to google and increase your reliance on them rather than being a real UI feature.

I use both for different purposes. Gentoo’s feature flags are the reason I wait for compiles, but only for computers a touch the keyboard with. Everything else gets Arch.
I use Joplin + nginx WebDAV, works for me and was really simple to setup
