About jabong: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomelo
I know them as Som O (ส้มโอ) from Thailand. Where are they called jabong?
What variety is it?
I’m Hawaii based, but it’s the local word for them. However, I’m totally uncertain as to it’s origin or why local kine use that word. They’re extremely sweet but very seedy.
It’s jamong (자몽) in Korean, maybe that name came from east asia?
So good! And the smell is fantastic.
I’m always amused that the fruit itself is like a third smaller than the rind lol. But then you grab one sliver of the fruit and it looks like a mandarin orange slice that was hit by Wayne Szalinski’s laser and blown up huge.
Jabong bong when
Looks like a zested watermelon 😃
My Jabong is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Jabong is useless. Without my Jabong I am useless.
Where are you from that called it jabong? It has many name but jabong is the first time i heard it being called. Here we call it limau bali(malay) or 柚子(chinese). It’s very tasty fruit.
Hawaii. It’s definitely a local word because I too had not called the jabong before.
This the tree it came from:

Pardon me, but that is MY Jabong. I know it’s mine because it’s green. The man who sold it to me said it was a one of a kind because it’s green. Please kindly return it to me by placing it on my front porch.
