Summary

In Wayne County, Arab American precincts rejected Kamala Harris, with Biden receiving 82% of the vote in 2020 and Harris only 23% in 2024.

Trump’s outreach to Arab American and Muslim communities, including visits to Dearborn and Hamtramck, contributed to his increased support.

Harris’s performance in Dearborn, where she received only 13% of the vote in the south end, reflects the backlash against Biden’s handling of foreign policy in the Middle East.

But that would make Trump a war criminal, and the US public would not stand for that, no sir they wont! They would rise up and march in the streets until that genocide stopped!

We are at genocide. Now. Someone else tried coming up with the term ‘super genocide’ because whatever democrats are responsible for cant be that bad, trump has to be worse. And since we’re already at genocide, it has to be worse than genocide. Like we are currently at excusable genocide, doesnt count genocide, only technically genocide. Itll only be a crime against humanity once Trump is bombing women and children. I cant wait to see the headlines of hospitals getting hit with US missiles and people like you going “see? Its worse!”

There’s genociding the West Bank as well as Gaza, as currently suggested now that Trump has won. You might not see a difference between 40% and 100%, but your joint winners Netanyahu and Trump do. You sure showed Harris there.

To Arabs with families in Gaza the worst is already happening. Entire branches of families have been wiped out. Trump quite literally can not be any worse for them than Biden. And Harris failed to meaningfully distance herself from Biden’s policies on Gaza. So they stayed home. This isn’t shocking, it’s an entirely human response.

First of all I’m not omniscient. I don’t see everything that’s posted. But please go read what I said again. I did not say I believed her stance to be the same as Biden’s. I said she failed to meaningfully separate herself from Biden’s policies.

She said the exact same thing Biden was saying while he was sending 2,000 pound bombs to Israel.

And Jordanlund is wrong about the “defensive” weapons. The only defensive thing we send is the iron dome missiles. We also send everything from bullets to tank shells to plane bombs. None of which are purely defensive.

She could have used messaging along the lines of, “I believe our military aid requires more stringent investigations into units receiving it.” But for whatever reason she didn’t. The pro Palestinian lobby was very clear about what they wanted to hear from her in order to vote for her and she did not meet that bar.

Not only that, but Kamala’s campaign decided to send Bill Clinton to lecture them on the Gaza war, just before the election.

The Harris campaign also sent Hillary Clinton to Florida. Went over like a lead balloon.

they only care about themselves, and their misguided belief that they are ‘doing the right thing’ and ‘paying back’ biden.

if they cared at all about gaza, about the west bank, about palestine and its people, they would have come out in force, and in support of democrats from coast to coast. anything to prevent another trump presidency.

trump was never on their side and will let israel do whatever they want.

just like he’ll let russia do whatever they want and ukraine will cease to exist. protest votes, like those in michigan, helped doom ukraine, too.

I’ll feel bad, along with when they come for all the other immigrant groups who voted for Trump, and eventually for the rest of us.

Now is the time to build coalitions, and work together to confront what is coming.

We keep talking about how to “get through” to voters…

Well, cold reality is a very effective tool, and many people will be regretting their choices in the coming days. We’d be stupid to turn them away instead of showing them we believe in the same core values.

Why are they selfish? Because they didn’t vote how YOU wanted? Who’s being selfish here?

Too many people in this thread think they know better about the average voter. Most Americans don’t actually give a shit about politics. It’s getting them to care is the problem. Most people in the USA are too fucking stupid for their own good. Most of the people in this thread are too sensitive to realize they are part of the problem. Arab Americans aren’t directly responsible for Trump’s win but they contributed to it by holding out their votes on a single issue. If both candidates were literally the same as each other besides their stance on Gaza then I can see the logic of not voting for one over the other or abstaining. This was not the case. Most of you trying to act like Harris should have come out and promise to personally stop the genocide don’t realize that the Jewish population in America controls more money, power and influence than the Arab vote. So both sides are going to go out of their way to support Israel. You pearl clutchers don’t get this.

You want to consider both sides the same when they are not. Are Democrats perfect? No. Are they a better alternative? Yes. Setting aside the ongoing issue of Israel and Palestine and whether or not either state should exist (Hint: it’s likely neither, but Israel does have a more historical claim), the issue WITHIN AMERICA is that Trump and his cronies want to install a slew of right wing fascists into positions of power WITHIN AMERICA. Yet stupid assholes like you want to concern yourself with whats going on in a foreign country when shit is going bad right here. Get your head out of your ass.

How is pointing out a bunch of fascists showing their true colors by openly calling for racial retribution “mental gymnastics”? The fact that you are trying so hard to associate sanity and compassion with being a Trump supporter makes me think you are just a bot paid for by the “other team”. If you are a genuine Democrat then this is not a good look for your side and you should really do some self reflection because you are only going to lose your party votes with this rhetoric.

I don’t know many things but the voters are obviously to blame. We drew 100 different trolley problems and told them democracy and women’s rights were on the line. We even had Bill Clinton logically explain that Palestinians were human shields. We even had better policy even though most voters didn’t know it. I can only conclude voters are selfish and that’s why they vote against their own interests.
