Ah schools. Life’s first taste of arbitrary rules. Some schools here are
confiscatingstealing kids’ phones for a week.I’m glad I don’t have children to send to those part time prisons.
I’m also glad you don’t have children.

you offended the breeders 😂
Nah mate, pretty sure I’ll never be in a state where I want to have children. Just read his message and thought it was for the best he didn’t. Also I would never use the word breeders, it makes you sound obnoxious and not very intelligent like a 14 yo.
Those things are getting really bad in the us. I’m glad I got out so many years ago, the shit I hear now being described by students like it’s normal is insane.
They have to inculcate that office life culture so kids become good wage slaves as adults
Only for a little longer until AI takes all the office jobs. Then schools will go back to teaching kids how to assemble iPhones and mine rare earth metals.
They do yearn for the mines though
Having kids focus on the lesson and real life socializing is not a bad thing.
Confiscating their phone for a week is not acceptable, unless they’ve had it confiscated till the end of the day a few times already.
IMO it’s not acceptable regardless. The school’s jurisdiction as it were ends at the door. Anything beyond that is theft.
What are non arbitrary rules?
Malicious compliance at it’s best.
Who is maliciously complying? The teacher? The kid?
The teacher, they could have issued a warning, or confiscated after the number was added.
That is not how that term is used.
I just used it that way so clearly you are wrong :)
“Properly” was implied.
The one that got away
The phone, that is.
And now I need to rewatch ‘chasing Amy’
I need to reread Misery - Stephen King
Book better than the movie?
I had that in my IMDb watch list apparently. Maybe I should watch it too.
I read this in Greg Davies voice 😂
Schools are where we first learn to deal with draconian and arbitrary rules that aren’t internally consistent. Jobsworth.
