Graham Platner served multiple tours of duty in the Marines as a soldier and machine gun section leader, he says he got the tattoo while drunk on leave in europe with his other Marine buddies when they all decided to go get tattoos as a way to be idiots and have fun. Graham says he just picked the skull tattoo because it looked cool and tough basically and then never thought about it until recently when it came to light… from opposition research meant to sabotage him.
You should watch at least some of it though, the amount of energy being poured by corporate interests into carpet bombing Graham Platner is intense, don’t trust the lazy narratives like OP is pushing even when they flood your social media. Actually look at the facts and what Graham says, don’t trust people like OP they do not have your best interests at heart.
This is the first time I’ve ever heard of him. Looks like he’s a candidate for US senate out of Maine. Article I read said he had the tattoo altered/covered up, and he’s endorsed by Bernie. Everything I’m seeing indicates you’re correct that it’s not actually an issue
I’m still not watching a 50 minute video about a senate candidate on the other side of the country
I’m not paying too close attention to the race, so whoever votes in it should make their own decisions, but anyone who willingly signed up and returned to military service and then joins blackwater and is proud of that is absolutely not a leftist in my opinion. He may want to separate himself from his military past but be unable to because it’s not politically popular to be anti us imperialism, but the fact he’s actively promoting it demonstrates to me that he and I are absolutely not ideologically aligned. I am unwilling to give a multi return marine and blackwater agent the benefit of the doubt regarding Nazi imagery. It’s possible he believes in M4A or is pro LGBT or whatever, and if he is the best Mainers have then they can make that decision, but I am not at all excited about his candidacy. I’m not sure if he’ll be a turncoat, but even if he’s not I don’t think he’s the kind of person I’d want to unreservedly endorse.
I’m not watching a 50 minute long video. Can I get a TL;DR?
