I would not for one second doubt that he’s just straight up lying. That no one gave him fake numbers and that he’s just creating a reality for his cult by speaking.
The most likely is that he neither knows or cares about what the objective truth of anything is. It is only what is in his own mind that is real and sadly millions of people believe it too.
