Are there many accounts on .ml that spout utter shite? Yes. But the same can be said for many servers.
Does that mean you should espouse hatred towards every account on .ml? No.

The algorithms used to sort posts on Lemmy are available to look up, they’re pretty standard algorithms based upon up/downvotes, time, and comments. Twitter doesn’t have that openness, it manipulates the feed based on whatever they desire to rise and fall.
