Reminds me of the 2 gamer dudes comics that were all the rage in the late 90s/early 2000s
Pennyarcade?
Also Loss and a third one I don’t remember the name, one of the dudes had a goatee
time to talk about how much the “woke agenda” is “making everything sensitive”
They miss the point of podcasting, which is to A) Have a subject you’re unfathomably passionate and knowledgeable about and B) Be interesting.
If one or both are lacking, you’ll never make it.
Live footage of when friends try to monetize hanging out.
Well, that sort of podcast won’t survive for long in my podcatcher app.
But the “2 guys” format is very common, and to stay with the theme of the cartoon:
Often one of the duo is clearly the main guy while the other interjects something that tries to be humorous but falls flat, or contributes so little that they’re just a sounding board for #1.
In some podcasts this is so bad that I constantly carry a little vicarious embarassment for #2 while listening.
A little scripting helps, or an agreement that e.g. #1 talks (freely) and #2 reads (articles or quotes etc.).
The one I used to listen to, was 2 standup comedians. One had funnier experiences and ranted a lot, the other was funnier in general. It was particularly funny because they were polar opposites. First guy is super intense, other guy is the calmest person ever.
They stopped making new episodes though, guy #1 went to the US, got a spot on Kill Tony and now Texan comedy fans can’t get enough of the Estonian Assassin.
Hey! Let’s do a podcast about podcasts! I can be your embarrassing soundboard guy.
I did elaborate quite a bit didn’t I.
You sure sound like you know what you’re talking about.
can we do a podcast about podcasts about podcasts?
On cable TV / talk shows, that’s “the host and the sidekick.” Kimmel and Guillermo, Conan and Andy, some do that with the lead of the band (Colbert, Fallon, Meyers)…
Yep. A little scripting helps.
The accent almost makes it sound believable somehow.
So sad…
I wish these losers would be relegated back to AM radio
