Has he or the offical Proton account adressed their current position on the GOP now that the Trump admin has fired their most prominent antitrust proponent?
How do you figure that? These are Andys own words:
The GOP just ousted their one good antitrust hire in their first year. Big tech keeps giving Trump cash payments for pet projects in a clear example of corruption to prevent any action agaisnt their monopolies.
I dont see how the above makes the GOP the party of the “little guys” like Andy asserted. How have “the tables turned” if they ousted the only person they had working against big tech while taking bribes from big tech?
I was referring to his original statement as it pertains to the OP.
Those were all Andys statements, made at the same time.
I can see why Andy thought that having Gail Slater onboard was a sign that they would take antitrust at least somewhat seriously. Not Lena Khan serious, but still. Well, shes been ousted by her own party, and its utterly clear that big tech can just pay the GOP to make antitrust go away.
At this point, none of Andy’s praise of the GOP has turned out to be true. I’d like to see if he’s adjusted his viewpoint now that things are clearer, or if he has double downed on the “pay to play” GOP still somehow being there for the little guy like Proton.
