I the US, Buying a gun from some guy in an alley or a gun show, has always been a lot easier than printing one
Mentally ill people in the US can own guns legally, there are no rules.
Tbf “mentally ill” means a lot more than “a danger to themselves or others.” We already do block those who have proven themselves a danger (or we can if the cops do their goddamn jobs which is often the point of failure for cases like Cruz from Parkland), it’s one of the rules we “don’t” have that if you have been involuntarily committed or convicted of a particular crime(s) you’re barred from ownership, but should we ban someone from a right simply for having ADHD, autism, bipolar, gender dysphoria, etc? All that’d do is discourage therapy and be discriminatory, and it’s wrong.
Where I live, in EU, guns are legal but regulated. Long guns, including semi auto assault rifles require a hunting license, which includes what’s called a psychotechnical exam, a basic health, sight, hearing and basic psychological exam. Short guns require an actual psy exam, 30-45 min.
At least it weeds out clear mental health issues.
…So the expectation is that a criminal organization would obviously print and build a gun, but they wouldn’t sidestep a law to illegally build a 3D printer from scratch to do it?
The guns are an excuse to kill Right-To-Repair, as well as small scale manufacturing. The big enshitification manufacturers lobbied for this.
Much the same as the ID laws are not about protecting children, but identifying Internet users
Establishment democracts trying to again to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. What kind of tratoris brainrot do you have to have to on one hand acknowledge a growing faciest federal government and on the other hand fight to disarm the people, worse specifically the people mostly likely targeted by that government, while also kneecapping people and communities rights to repair and create what they want and need themselves.
What are you doing Mamdani!⸮
🤣Mayor’s not in charge of state laws
Right, his veto can be vetod…
Mayor’s can’t veto state laws. Mayor’s are not governors. They are not in charge of a state, they’re in charge of a city.
