A cartoon showing two intersecting bike paths. The bike paths are filled with speeding fat bikes and electric cargo bikes. The cargo bikes are all decked out with bells and whistles; one has a hot tub with children playing in the cargo area, while in another, a child is playing video games in front of a large screen. There is only one regular bicycle visible on the bike paths; it is being passed on both sides by angry-looking people on e-bikes. A woman tries in vain to cross at a crosswalk.
I don’t get why this is mixing electric cargo bikes with illegal speed unlocked e-bikes.
Went to the Utrecht last week and have to admit that certain parts of the city are hard for pedestrians. The bike traffic is so intense, and they completely ignore any pedestrians trying to cross.
I thought that for a bit when I went there. Then I went to Vietnam. I am ready.
You were brave enough to say fuck cars. Are you brave enough to say fuck pedestrians? cycles over all.
Sorry even though I disagree with the anti-e-bike campaigns 99% of the time I am still a pedestrian supremacist when it comes to transit. The best cities are built around pedestrians. Humans were meant to walk.
That said, I haven’t been to the places the artist is complaining about but I do believe this is a manufactured crisis in my city. The danger posed to pedestrians by e-bikes is extremely minimal, especially compared to cars.
I don’t like e-motos (anything above 30 mph) in the bike lanes.
By EU-standards, an e-moto would start at 25 km/h (~15.5 mph).
Those vehicles are indeed not allowed to be in the bike lane
Where can I buy that hot tub bike?
You just need a bakfiets and some water
