Consumer Protection BC, along with BC Crime Watch, has released a joint statement on Facebook urging residents who witness unfair pricing on essential goods to report it.
“Raising prices unfairly on essentials like fuel, food, water, lodging and supplies is price gouging,” it says in the statement. “Exploiting British Columbians during the wildfires is illegal and unacceptable.”
Reports can be filed through Consumer Protection BC’s 24/7 reporting line at 1-888-564-9963.
