Nah, I’d totally vote to convict someone breaking safety regulations by having their phone or other loose items out while the ride is in motion. Many innocent people have been injured by that.
I saw one of the videos not long ago. Some of the dipping sauce clearly splashed back toward other riders. That’s rude, but probably not dangerous.
The buddy holding the phone though? Yeah that would suck if it slipped from his hand and hit you in the face at 90 mph (max speed for this coaster).

From the photo, it looks like someone used their camera while on the ride. I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the real offense. Six Flags has gotten strict about it, there are signs everywhere telling people they’ll get kicked out if they take their phone out on rides.
While waiting in line for a ride last year, my brother and I watched a nearby roller coaster stop just after leaving the gate (while still on the initial incline, where there’s still walkable space around it) and employees escorted some bozo off exactly for that reason. They’re not kidding around.
Every get hit in the head by 100mph phone? It’s essential like getting a rock chucked at you by prime Randy Johnson.
Seems a bit unfair considering that is very clearly Millennium Force at Cedar Point, which has no affiliation with the Six Flags parks.

Honestly best case scenario. Your esophagus Doesn’t works the same in negative and positive gforces. Best to keep it clear until you are not moving. Dude could end up choking with no one knowing until the ride finishes. By then it could be too late.
