Imagine this: instead of removing a full lane and just making the rest 33% wider, you remove that lane, make the car lanes 10% wider, and use the rest of the free space for a 2-way bike lane. There’s no way that 5 minute driving commute would be more than 20-30 minutes by bike. Less by ebike.
Why would widening the lanes make it safer? Usually wider lanes are more dangerous due to higher speeds.
Damn I thought this was regarding India what with the recent push for walk-ability; this is so fucking shameful.
That bridge is a deathtrap.
