Omaha police recently agreed to stop carrying gloves that can deliver electric shocks to students in the halls of Nebraska’s largest public school district.

The decision affecting most Omaha middle and high schools came after the Associated Press first revealed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)’s plan to give officers the “Gloves” – or “generated low output voltage emitters”. The devices have also been used in recent years by some jails.

…“I can’t even imagine walking down the hallway and seeing a peer of mine being electrocuted in a place that is supposed to be a safe space for students,” said Nora Wessel, a senior at Omaha Central high school. “Yet, this is now a very real possibility. These are adults we are supposed to be able to trust, but these weapons create a barrier for our students to turn to resource officers when needed.”

Clearly the only solution here is to issue each child their own protective shock gloves so they can tase the SRO who tased them.

Because the only other option is homeschooling, and you work two and half jobs to get by, so you don’t have time for that.

The level of just utterly batshit insanity they’ll go to just to avoid doing anything to actually help people. I mean god forbid we just improve the fucking standard of living to reduce unrest, no, as you said, they’ll start tasing children instead. Fucking literally.

The idea is to prevent shootings, instead they bully the students and hide if there’s a shooter.

Heh, in my city the idea is to give favored cops access to overtime pay.

Can’t get rid of the cops. How would they arrest all the black kids for just existing?

Everyone should be teaching their kids that cops are dangerous and should be avoided, like people of color have been doing for decades, but we wouldn’t listen.

“Less than lethal doesn’t mean low risk,” Trump said.

    No, not that Trump. Obviously.
