It’s perhaps a little different than an american shooting a school.
In one, you’ve got lots of victims, too many for one person to remember, but only one name for the killer, so it’s more likely to stick.
In this case, I think people are going to remember the one victim. Similar to James Bulger.Edit: As a footnote, I had a read through the James Bulger wikipedia page after I wrote, and I really wish I hadn’t.
Exactly. These things should not have been named or their faces publicised. They should not get attention.
I disagree. I doubt you or I or anyone else will remember their names. If the judge hadn’t named them, however, the British (social and perhaps tabloid) media would have become obsessed with discovering their identities.
The girl got life with a minimum of 22 years (and a comment saying it would “take a lot of work” for her to be released), The boy got life with a minimum of 20.
Their faces are so similar, it’s honestly kinda uncanny.
