That one started when I was like 10 and usually happens within a week of thanksgiving. I try to avoid other Xmas stuff whenever I can. It’s a rough holiday (season) for me, kinda always has been even as a kid, and I don’t have anyone to spend it with anyway.

Only interaction I usually have with llms is when my cookies get cleared and my search result has the AI overview thing turned on. It never makes it through to actually presenting a result before I turn it off, though. Hate that shit being on ecosia. Really defeats the purported mission purpose, imo.

I played with a free image generator back when they first came out, found them fairly unimpressive, and moved on.

I’ll wait until they can proc gen vr environments without causing nausea. That’s about the only use I personally have for what presently passes for ai.

If you haven’t seen the UK version, I recommend it over the US version, since it was the original :) I like foreign tv though, fewer nonsense romance plots in general.

Is that rework anything like full metal alchemist Vs. FMA brotherhood? Like starts the same but then goes somewhere else?

I already have a copy of the whole SAO so I’ll probably still watch it (I’ve watched some pretty questionable stuff all the way through just because I started it…) but if it’s genuinely worth watching both, even if just for the sake of comparison, I’ll try to find a copy.

It kinda sounds like the same overall problems that 1899 had… I watched that knowing the “big reveals every episode that makes everything pointless” problems (from comments much like yours) and was just as disappointed as I expected to be by that aspect, but it was still pretty good imo (probably blessed by lowered expectations), and I’m curious what another few seasons could have done after the big end reveal… I’d probably have given it another season of my time. It was actually pretty well done, imho, all things considered. But then I have admittedly pretty low standards.

Although maybe this has lower production quality, by the sound of it. Any show that has to shoehorn multiple sex scenes when they don’t need them is just… mmrf… uncomfortable. So I expect to be uncomfortable.

I think the one you are thinking of is Being Human, and there’s both a US and a UK version of that.

Misfits was amazing. I loved that it was people you wouldn’t normally give powers to, cinematically speaking.

I don’t want to read your spoiler because I have pretty low standards and enjoy things I probably shouldn’t just for the sake of it being novel; why do you not recommend it? Like is it at all any good and just disappointing how the plot was handled or bad generally?

It’s also something I hope every year people will forget to invite me to (I genuinely dislike holiday gatherings; I don’t have family so I end up feeling like a third wheel with other families), but they are too damned nice, and finally figured out that the host has to directly invite me to guilt me into it.

It sucks thinking that way but I totally get it. I’ve been aware since I was like 15 or so that my mother only had me because my older sister was a marital rape baby. She told me this directly… she was a shit parent and clearly hated doing it, but she genuinely never intended to do it in the first place, and used protection religiously when not being forced (clearly; she had my sister at 31 in the 80s and was catholic so no abortion). Then they just sort of decided to have another so the first wouldn’t be alone… wish they hadn’t. Sister and I haven’t spoken in almost 20 years now.

That knowledge has been an albatross most of my life. But she died in my early 20s so I can’t even get closure about it now that I know I want it. Just have to let it go. Nothing can be done about it anyway, choices were made, consequences shook out.

Needless to say, I’m child-free myself. I’m about as warm and nurturing as she was…. Lol

Random my little pony and other young kid games. Hate to admit it but even the paw patrol games are entertaining in this way (had a ps+ subscription, wouldn’t have paid for these). They are short and easy, and kinda junk, nice palate cleanser, and often very cute and encouraging. You don’t know a silly morale boost until you play something that says “you’re doing great!” periodically on the easiest thing you’ve done all day.
