Nah, it’s the Democratic parties fault. They could have prevented this. It’s their job to do so!
Tim Walz explained it the other day at SXSW.
Politicians are like teachers. If it’s Tim Walz’s job to teach kids about geography, and then test them to check if he taught well, if the outcomes of that test show that half the class passes and half fails, then the blame for that is on the teacher. The teacher could have taught differently, teaching in different styles to adequately reach out to students where they’re at in life and according to their specific learning styles. He might teach the same topic 5-6 different ways to capture as many people as possible.
The Harris-Walz campaign didn’t do that. They had terrible messaging as soon as the DNC hit. When Harris brought Walz on, there was actual progressive momentum. But then Harris bent the knee to establishment Democrats, and they lost the election.
I will not believe that it’s the voters’ fault for the election outcome. If Democrats were sober enough to realize Trump’s threat and wanted to really fire people up, they would have may the necessary changes to do so.
I’m shocked, really
But Israel are the fascists in this scenario, yet they are doing the electricity curtailment…
Canada are the supposed “good guys”, and they are refusing electricity trading with the fascist Americans, not the other way around
Definitely Skateparkge on this one
Yeah. I’m a vegan and I took issue with that. Sure we can do scientific studies to see how cats do on vegan diets, but imo that further propels cat domestication which vegans should be against at the very beginning. We already subject cats and other pets to environments that aren’t natural to their genetic history. And now vegans are introducing foods that aren’t natural, even though taking cats off streets can be seen as the more ethical thing to do, given the alternatives.
Lots of nuance here, but it’s not fair to the cats. Any time vegans think for themselves instead of the real victims of animal slavery, they undermine their entire cause.
If politics includes the realm of persuading enough people and institutions to adopt or forget laws and standards, however moral of immoral they are, then rights of any kind are political.
Rights aren’t given in society for nothing. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights were created following WWII in which we saw the greatest political conflicts in the modern, technological age. Civil rights, at least in the US, have taken many acts as well as background political pressure to get to where we are today, and this institutionalizing of equal rights among American citizens only started after the US Civil War, the only civil war that country had ever experienced at that point.
As an American, fuck the USA.
I’m ready to protest this shit. Tell me when and where to show up, my local big city or state capital. This is some bullshit. Trump and Vance are egotistical dickheads. Ukraine are our allies! Imagine George Washington doing this with Marquis de Lafayette, or FDR with Churchill!! Unspeakable!

While it seems like the common stance in American culture (to which I belong) is that the Nazi Evil and the Holocaust positively were uniquely evil and should be distinguished against other crimes against humanity.

However, I am willing to take the position that this might be American propaganda that focuses the American populace on the Nazis, blinding them to the other atrocities that have occurred in the modern age. Some of this might be because many US History classes end their curriculums at the end of WWII, and so modern history after that isn’t really taught. That lasting impression could explain cultural permanence.
I do tend to agree with you though. I think the Nazis were evil and did evil shit, but after reflecting on it, it is possible to think of today’s Zionists and “modern Nazis”, as one might towards other authoritarian, totalitarian regimes.
So yeah. You’re right
He has gone to protests! And rallies!
In recent memory, he’s attended pro Palestinian protests in Chicago, showcased nonprofits trying to help those in squalor in Skid Row, Los Angeles, and marched/striked in solidarity with SAG-AFTRA workers. More recently, he’s done real world journalism by speaking to imprisoned peoples that populate firefighting forces in California. That story was especially potent because of the fires that happened recently in Los Angeles.
In all instances, he’s brought his 30,000-strong Twitch audience and casted the spotlight on local leaders that can speaker better to the issues at hand. I think him bringing awareness to these things, in addition to him covering the news, definitely gets overlooked by many people that already have a preconception of him.
While I think the initial style of attack by OC was warranted given the content matter, I do agree with you. At some point there needs to be a check to see if the interlocutor has good faith or not, and if so, to offer education and try to dispel myths or lies.
Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez are heading out to states to lead town halls after this most recent budget passing.
This is what Democrats should be doing: preparing for 2028 by reaching out to people now, or at the very least educating them on what’s happening and what might happen in the other 46 months (or more…) of Trump’s second presidency.
