I don’t appreciate the racist language at all. I would like to add some aditional context on this story. It isn’t quite the support of attacking people of colour that this might seem at first glance.

Johnny Somali (real name Ramsey Khalid Ismael) was filming himself in Japan randomly acosting people in the streets. He then went to South Korea and ‘invited’ people to do something about it. He has been accused of desecrating a South Korean monument to women subjected to sexual slavery in World War II.

He was attacked by koreans, live streaming his acts and him being attacked, and has recently plead guilty in court and faces a mandatory prison sentence and banned from leaving the country.

Absolutely! Though the common usage of transgender or purely trans are more modern - it was usually referred to incorrectly or derogatory as transsexual or travestite which now are being reclaimed.

I believe for stonewall it was reported as drag queens at the time, very much in line with your visibility and acceptance comment.

I think when people refer to HP (HPQ) they think of ‘Hewlett Packard’, and therefore take the name to also mean Hewlett Packard Enterprise (“HPE”) but those appear to be two different things.

What I can summize is that HP build the teck prior to the split, which is now used by EntServ and DXC not part of HP. HP built a R&D center

It looks like the company continuously split and sold parts of it to get away from that legacy. By not demonstrating how they are not involved this shows a level of complicity.

If we start to look at the people in the companies, this will start to paint a different picture - Antonio Neri who is the President and CEO of HPE has been with HP since 1995. In 1997 he was ‘global director of HP’s imaging and printing services division’. In 2004 the company’s ‘PC services business’, then began ‘heading the technology services business’ in 2011. I wonder how he personally was involved in the things HP did during his time in these roles.

I think you have, but its not everyone. In the end, I’m a lurker so take my feedback with salt. It is a right/good thing to do, it will have some other effects.

I would encourage you to go through providing alt-text for some of the memes that are shared here.

Examples of alt text are usually against ‘reaction memes’ (which dont take more than 20 seconds). However, the more detailed memes I see from folk will genuinely take a few minutes of scrolling up and down to transcribe in detail what is being shown. An example of the 4 panel meme showing text on the left and text on the right will be 12 sentence-paragraphs long to articulate what is shown. Memes are funny not because of what is literally written, but also the insinuation or context that might not be written.

I accept the quality versus quantity, but this should be recognised as a barrier of entry for others, and will be at the expense of engagement. I’d suggest giving it a test period and see how it goes. It would also help if all mods led by example, I only see sporadic usage of this.
