I think they should’ve called it Electron, since a Proton is a specific particle (or more accurately specific combination of 3 Quarks = Baryon) while Leptons are a whole class of particles (electron, myon, tauon, Neutrinos).

Gluon would be a great name to combine all these different tools with each other, where the correct Proton/Lepton/FEX or other (future) translation layers are used automatically, so the user doesn’t need to know that there a different technologies under the hood depending on what your trying to run

Waydroid is a container (like docker), not an emulator. So waydroid on its own on a regular x86 Computer will Run only x86 Android Apps, but if it were installed on an ARM machine (like one if the Snapdragon Laptops) it would run normal (ARM) Android Apps (and no x86).

To run any android app on x86 you need to emulate ARM, which waydroid doesn’t do on its own, but scripts exist to add it to waydroid; https://github.com/casualsnek/waydroid_script

I’m assuming Valves Lepton does all if the for you, as well as using some optimized settings for some of the most popular Apps.

When I last used Waydroid (also about a year ago) I had problems with GPU Acceleration not working. All I wanted was SmartTube on my HTPC, but all videos were insanely choppy and laggy, so I hope they focus on that a lo. (if anyone knows a way to get ad-free YouTube with a TV like interface for free on linux, please let me know :) (I’ve also tried Kodi with a YouTube Plug-In and while it worked, the interface was pretty ass, so I’m just using Firefox with UBlock and a Bluetooth Mouse+Keyboard, which works but it like to be able to control it using just a cheap USB remote that I have)

Yep, that’s what I thought about too. I actually really enjoyed the difficulty of it in Acts 1 and 2, don’t get me wrong some of the bosses took me dozens of tries, but the sense of accomplishment for finally beating one you’ve been struggling with is better than any game that I recall playing (example, I never got very far in Elden Ring, since I would loose enjoyment trying the same boss over and over again, but in Hollow Knight and Silksong the Bosses are so good and fun)

That being said, Act 3 is completely destroying me and I’m starting to think that maybe, just maybe the game is a little too diffcult

You sure its dead? My 2 year old pixel was also having issues charging, but I simply used SIM tray tool to poke around the charging port and got A LOT of lint out of it and its as good as new

Looks like most people are using GloriousEggroll’s version of Proton (ProtonGE) and some are using launch options to disable the EA Launcher.

GE works on Wine at Red Hat and is thus very knowledgeable about windows translations and the stuff he changes about Valves Proton are often merged down the line, its like an unofficial beta release and I’ve had good a experience with his proton Versions.

That said, to actually get custom Proton Versions I use “ProtonUp-Qt”(available as flatpak): https://davidotek.github.io/protonup-qt/

Which downloads different Proton Versions and manages them for you. You can then set the default for all games in the steam settings, or on a game-by-game basis

i have stayed very far away from shein and temu, but I have gotten some bits and bobs from aliexpress. While i have heard of Taobao before I have never heard of Tmall and I have never ordered from either of them.

Vielen Dank! Ja das Spiel hat eine Unglaubliche Atmosphäre und sehr spannende Art ihre Geschichte durch die Umgebung und kryptischen Texten zu erzählen. Und es hat echt die aller besten Endgegner die ich je gespielt habe und gerade das manche von denen dutzende Versuche benötigen, ohne das man Lust und Laune (zu sehr) verliert ist echt erstaunlich.

Ich weiß dass es da noch einiges zu tun gibt, mir fehlen noch ein paar Hundert Essence um den White Palace freizuschalten, z.B. Ich wollte dann aber auch mal mit Silksong anfangen und komme vielleicht wieder wenn ich damit durch bin.

Und ist mir schon bewusst, dass man da noch alles freischalten wird, war ja bei Hollow Knight genauso. Habe mich erst nur wie der größte Noob gefühlt als ich Anfangs immer versucht habe zu dashen und nichts passiert ist. Dash habe ich vor kurzem dann auch freigeschaltetund das Sprinten ist schon ziemlich nice. Pogo ist auch noch sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. Es macht auf jeden Fall auch mega Spaß bisher.

Ich habe Hollow Knight durchgezockt, da der Silksong Hype so groß war.

Endlich, besitze es schon seit 5 Jahren, habe aber vorher nicht mehr als 3 Std gespielt, dann eine Pause gemacht und war dann komplett lost. Jetzt in ein-zwei Wochen durch. (naja, den Hollow Knight mit 90% Completion besiegt [von 112% mit den updates])

Mega Spiel, 100%ige Empfehlung. Ist jetzt eines meiner Lieblingsspiele aller Zeit.

Habe auch mit Silksong angefangen. Bisher auch mega Gut, nur ist es eine große Umgewöhnung von allen Fähigkeiten und Upgrades in Hollow Knight wieder nur mit den Basis-Fähigkeiten zurechtzukommen.
