Das ist die Nahaufnahme einer Tropical Mango, die heute geerntet wurde.

Warum die bei mir was hinterlassen haben ist mir schleierhaft. Ich habe aber zufällig bei Aufräumarbeiten in /opt Dateien und Ordner gefunden. Kurze Kontrolle bei Virustotal und ich hab das Teil sofort ge-nuked. Muss vor ca. einem Monat gewesen sein. Was die genau mit dem Server gemacht haben weiss ich nicht, besonders auffällig hat der sich nicht verhalten. Darum gehe ich auch davon aus dass die nur komplett alle Daten gezogen haben und damit verschwunden sind. Das geht mir so unter die Haut dass jetzt erstmal gar nix mehr in irgend eine “cloud” kommt.

Du kannst noch so sehr denken du hast alles abgesichert - es reicht ein winziger Fehler. Jetzt mit KI geht das dann noch schneller, ich bin mir nicht sicher warum wir Admins denken wir haben noch irgend eine Chance.

In /opt lag ein python download und die Datei whitecat.c. Findest du sogar auf github. Problem war ein nicht deaktvierter VNC Zugang.

Mich wundert vor allem, dass die Industrie das so lange unkommentiert mitmacht. Wie im Artikel beschrieben wird diese Praxis seit Jahrzehnten beim Monopolisten durchgeführt. Es kostete alle, von Wirtschaft über Regierungen bis Privatpersonen, viel Geld und Ressourcen, die wo anders um einiges besser aufgehoben wären. Nur damit Hr. Gates neue Atomkraftwerke bauen kann.

I have no idea what they mean with “cloud native”. It is just important to understand the concept of immutables/atomic flavors. I struggled at first with the whole concept, coming from “classic” distros. But you get the idea very quick and after that you can enjoy a stable rig. That is my experience after 7 months with bazzite on my main machine.

Ignore the buzzwords, it’s just another atomic flavor with a Fedora 41 base. If you don’t like it, just re-base to another flavor like kinoite. The main focus is on handhelds and gaming-rigs. They have some tools for that. That’s it.
