I asked, and @milan@discuss.tchncs.de isn’t convinced that they need to host Lemmy frontends like Photon because most people don’t need them. Honestly, that’s a fair reason. Tchncs.de already hosts so many services that the added overhead of another subdomain wouldn’t be worth it.

In France, April 1 is known as poisson d’avril. The tradition is to stick a paper fish to someone’s back without them noticing. I like that one! It’s a harmless prank, but it takes skill to pull off.

I guess it didn’t matter that much. When linking Lemmy threads to non-Lemmy users, I like using Photon because it looks nice by default. I get to recommend an instance this way, so I could look up the post on photon.reddthat.com and link to that post on that instance. I really want to recommend sopuli.xyz or tchncs.de this way, but no Photon.
