what am i supposed to do about the tv situation going forward? I’ve looked for dumb TVs for over 6 years and never found a new dumb tv. Do I have to get old units?

i have an asustor nas and i set it up with my hdd raid 1 drives as volume1, and installed my ssd later as volume2. now docker is constantly making my hdds tick and I can’t move it to the SSD because asustor don’t allow it ☠️ so I’m looking at reeeeaaallly testing my backups, wiping the device and reinstalling everything. It’s all in docker so it’s theoretically easy enough 🤞

haha, totally feel you but highly recommend trying elden ring again after a break! It took me about 5 attempts of dark souls games over 8 or so years before it clicked, and now elden ring would be in my top games
I feel like I’m the only person who didn’t like it? I hated not being able to figure out where to go

Linux@programming.dev•I tried CachyOS, but here's why Bazzite is still my go-to Linux gaming distro
4·20 days agoso in short - CachyOS requires you to put in expertise and effort to get a little extra, whereas bazzite is letting the experts at universal blue handle the bulk. is that right?
yeah this explains a lot haha
thank you! I’ve been on linux for years but somehow hadn’t heard of these

11·23 days agoNZ’s DIY hardware chain Bunnings is also doing facial recognition in their stores, and I’m amazed people still go. With all the bad shit that constantly happens, you think a random DIY store is going to keep your digital likeness safe?
I almost got kicked out of university for what they taught me in highschool 😂 turns out safety protocol is actually super important 🤯
wearing a tie in a workshop is mental 🤮
yeah i do exactly this and it’s very stable and unproblematic. has made a significant difference in my life

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Lemmy, what are some offline activities that bring you joy and help you unwind?
3·1 month agoI was going for forest walks at the time to help deal with my depression and for some reason just tried to be as quiet as possible one day. It was the best and I realized I didn’t actually like the fitness part of the walk. Being as slow and quiet as possible felt much better

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•[AIP] besstiolle/Timeline: my own tool for organizing my timeline diagrams
1·2 months agoYou’re very welcome! Just to be clear, these are the types of dependencies I was thinking:
- this task can only end a set time after that task ends (the cleaning of the job site can start during the job, but can’t end until the job does)
- this task can start after that task has started (I can start processing lab data after the first experiments have come in - I don’t have to wait to the end)
etc.!
I think it should be possible to define many dependencies / constraints and have the program simply freeze and flag when there are conflicts due to overdefining. I’m sure there’s a way to calculate the degrees of freedom, though the math isn’t something I can be bothered with rn haha
