It’s only with industrialisation that people started eating meat with every meal, and as the article makes clear, that level of production requires a lot of resources. We need to find a more sustainable way to feed people.

Do we need either though? Humans survived for a long time without data centers or meat processing plants.

I agree, however OpenStreetMap is not great for finding child friendly pubs. Back in March when I queried Overpass, only 72 pubs worldwide had the highchair tag, which is not significant enough for the highchair tag to be added to the id tagging scheme for pubs.

I would rewrite this one as, “if you want to reduce your impact, reduce the amount of animal products you eat, including meat, eggs, and dairy.”

Whilst you’ve said you’ll never become a vegan, do you disagree with this statement? Whilst tackling climate change is a collective problem, and not one solved through individual lifestyle choices, it needs to be acknowledged that all animal products have a carbon footprint

As much as I love a fireworks display, I do welcome laws to restrict firework sales. Our dog becomes very anxious during the firework season, which can last weeks. There was a popular petition to reduce the maximum noise level for consumer fireworks from 120 to 90 decibels, which if implemented could help reduce the anxiety that many animals and people experience during the firework season.

Though hopefully they are only falling out of love with big tech social media, as I’d love to see the Fediverse thrive.

A lot of pubs in the UK do serve food, and often they have provisions for families including changing tables and high chairs.

I think it depends on the context, if it was the only pub in a small village, you’d want it to be inclusive as possible. However, in a big city like London, there are lots of pubs, and if one isn’t child-friendly, there’s plenty of others that are, and vice versa.
