This article alone will be reason enough for countless raids and stolen laptops and phones, but not from billionaires.

More likely one of his kids that he doesn’t live with.

Look, as a vegan I know how hard it is to draw lines between people who choose to inflict unnecessary suffering and who merely don’t think much about that and live their lives as well as they can. If I would go with that zeal of the antizionist crowd I would expect everyone else to starve because almost nothing is “untainted” (and remain very opportunistic with my own consumption standards)

By that logic you probably also cancel anyone who uses Microsoft, because undoubtedly they also make business with Israel.

Oh come on. Guilt by association for everyone that deals with the ETH Zürich.

Why though? just don’t vote Republican.
Indeed I see there’s a difference. AI is much more than just the tech Bros version of it. If transferred to social media, the outrage would want to abolish not only Instagram and TicToc, but also the fediverse.
I don’t see that
All the outrage about AI around here is the outrage that should have been targeted towards social media in the past 10 years. The corporations that want to control societies communication while injecting their nefarious plots are already doing so.
Very few critics hit the point, which is the tech Bros utopia is to make us all superfluous as workers. That is the story we should challenge, and not lazily repeat criticism that doesn’t reflect the real world.
The reparability and long life argument is over blown in my eyes. My family has a few iPhones that got updates for 8 years and had no issues the whole time. A one time replacement of the battery in a repair shop is a good investment.
Nevertheless, the sovereignty that comes with /e/IS is unmatched by other vendors. And the promise about fair production lines is also reassuring.
Same. Have been using mine for almost a year now, and you may count me as a happy user.

In any sane state that values freedom the whole business model would be illegal.
There is none around here.

Not really. In general the founder of Christianity, Paul, disapproved of fucking slaves.*
I know this is different from US slaveholder practices, but you gotta point out where these self described Christians deviate.
*edit: i double checked and found myself wrong. Paul apparently never said anything regarding fucking slaves, and under Roman law and practice this was just commonplace.

Careful. Behind the persona of the hot young woman likely hides a 53yo Republican.

Strange thing citing a German. As a rule of thumb at least 2/3 of adults in Germany wear helmets, and all kids under 12 .

I can take pictures like this in heavily car trafficked areas as well. That still doesn’t mean they’re safe, or sane.

Ever since a SUV almost ran over my 4yo while the driver was looking at their smartphone instead of the red light, I insist that my family takes route 3, isolation (use the pedestrian bridge). But I have to constantly explain and reexplain myself even to my own family members.

In that case, I think its organized crime that makes people stick together just as well. Can be freely mixed with religion, but doesn’t have to.
To me it looks like you apply standards rather arbitrary, not because the standards are reasonable in the first place, but to loudly proclaim your moral stance. Which is antizionist, and in the internet hardly distinguishable from its bigger sister antisemitism. And particularly the arbitration is a reason to suspect your comment has little to do with Protons CEOs stance towards AI, but much more with intoxicating everything with antizionist rhetoric.
