From one of the Related Articles :

“I was just caught off guard and had no answer for my grandsons. All my gay friends [know] what’s up, they been calling me with love,” Snoop Dogg wrote. “My bad for not knowing the answers for a 6 yr old 😳. Teach me how to learn I’m not perfect.”

Good on his friends for calling him in.

Whatever his reasons for “going woke”, I prefer to see this route to the JK Rowling route.

Yeah, if we can’t accept people changing their minds, then we will always lose everything every time.

This is exactly what we should be looking for…

      Grandad says something bigoted.

      Younger people educate grandad.

Grandad publicly acknowledges that he was wrong and gives others an opportunity for others to do the same?

How do you complain about that?

        Preach.

When people come around we have to respect it. Some jokes along the way are cool too especially here which is practically offline (small circle of friends).

Hopefully we can all remember a stupid view we once had and if we apply the Lucky 10,000 concept we know that we happened to be challenged on it when we were young. Someone was older when they started to see things more equitably? Welcome to the light side!

this isn’t about love and acceptance. it’s about marketing lmao. snoop said some shit he knew would get him in the headlines and now he’s using that as an opportunity to plug his new TV show. he’s been doing this for decades. maybe lgbt people are tired of their struggles being exploited for a chance to sell eyeballs to advertisers?

Being black and LGBT is really hard, and if the black community doesn’t cancel him and maybe even listens, this is huge.

People really need to cut people some slack. If this is genuine and I feel it is he’s learning. People are allowed to change.

Judge someone by not just their past but their potential.

Judge someone by not just their past but their potential.

A dual edged sword. I would moderate that by saying whether they strive to work toward actualization of that potential, within the means available or presented to them.

There is always something to critique, huh? I think it’s positive that he has changed his stance regarding LGBTQ+ and even made a children’s song spreading the message that love is love. We need more inclusion, acceptance and tolerance in this society.

If Snoop is smart enough to spread a positive message and earn money at the same time, then good for him. At least he is trying to spread positivity to the world.

All he saw was his bottom line dropping and backpedaled.

Did you forget the Trump event he played at? 😂

That’s not someone who has goodness in their heart. He’s an opportunist and business man who is more likely to end up heading events in Dubai with Dave Chappell over doing something meaningful to spite the oligarchs that are actively seeking to kill LGBTQ+ individuals.

meh knowing Snoop I’d take what he says with a grain of salt and see what sponsorships/deals he has coming up and if any are potentially backed or support the LGBTQ+ community

the mans opinions change based on where the cheques come from. If he did make this change in thought without any financial basis then good for him.

Apparently lol. After his previous stances, I thought no way is it real. It’s like MTG fighting for the ACA. I was like, no fuckin way is this real. But 2025 yo. Everything is ridiculous, nothing is probable, everything is dangerous and wildly likely. Who fuckin knows at this point? I honestly wouldn’t be surprised by flying scorpions at this point. Like you keep assuming it can’t get worse but it always does. So fucking flying scorpions doesn’t sound that far fetched anymore.

Regardless of his actions I trust Snoop with absolutely nothing, he has no morals the only driving factor is money. Like I love some of his music but don’t take anything he says at face value; he will partner with both left wing and right wing at the same time just to get that little more cash

Snoop dog traded a actual lifetime of G credit away for a paycheck to sing and dance for a wannabe dictator.

I mean, I like that he very publicly walked back his homophobic remarks and tried to make amends. A lot of people look up to celebrities, so when they show people a good example, I am for it.

Especially since he worked with a queer organization to show that homosexuals are just regular people for an audience of children, this feels more than just an empty apology.

Sure, but the original issue was a comment and a personal choice in choosing media. Making an official retraction and appearing to try to educate people is an appropriate response to this.

If this was penance for a larger transgression, like funding an anti-LGBTQ cause, yeah this wouldn’t be enough.

Chances are, we will never know his intentions. If you ask me, I really don’t care about Snoop Dogg. However, I know a lot of people look up to celebrities like Snoop Dogg and would take his example to heart. In a sea of poor examples of behavior, I really like this.
