That’s changing though. My eldest daughter has openly dated other girls as a 10/11 year old and her classmates don’t really care (With the exception of the Syrian girl who she also briefly dated but now believes she’s getting sent to hell).

For a long time it was denial to myself so it was just being bullied by my friends who were literally all 6’4 and ripped and smart and really pretty. Then later it was denial to them and the creepiest most awkward social gatherings and the frustration of feeling cornered by people who I thought were my chosen family.
