South West England was badly hit by storms Goretti, Ingrid and Chandra, which brought heavy rain and flooding last month. The A379 in Devon has been destroyed.
That’s a natural spit of land (there is another technical term if it has land at both ends I think?). It was there, and flat, so they built the road on it. It wasn’t built for the road. (…probably)

Aye, however reading this I’m even more convinced putting a road there is idiotic, considering the environmental uniqueness of the area.
