That form does not calculate social security tax. It calculates an estimated self employment tax. None of the numbers on that page are the amount of tax owed in social security. Lines 5-9 are calculating how much additional tax you can deduct because you are paying social security tax on the first 184.5K of your income. When your income exceeds 184.5k, you are not paying additional social security tax, so you are not entitled to a greater deduction against your self-employment tax.

Everything you say is dishonest. It is in fact a form for calculating social security tax. Do you think the IRS is going to leave payroll taxes out?

What is the title of the form? Right up at the top of the page, it has a title. What is that title?

Yep. It also shows if you are making above the SS limit then people don’t have to contribute to SS.

A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.

Our Philosophies:

  • All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
  • Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
  • Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
  • We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.

Our Goals

  • Higher wages for underpaid workers.
  • Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
  • Better and fewer working hours.
  • Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
  • Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.
