I was just reading a book which said that “robot” came from a Czech word meaning “serf.” I was curious whether that was true and so looked it up. Looks like it’s not 100% accurate but pretty close.

It’s funny how we all know a robot when we see one, but it’s hard to nail down in words, exactly the difference between the various machines that could fall under “robot”.
I remember seeing Asimo as a kid in computer/tech books as a kid and I thought it was the coolest thing. I was pretty young so I don’t know the impact it had but I guess it was probably the coolest thing in that world.
