That happened in a nearby town several years ago. Except it was a nurse who struck a college student who was visiting with his baseball team. She drove a mile down the road and got out at a car dealership to check for damage. Then she got back in her car and drove home. She walked away with no charges.

Edit: She was charged but all of the charges were thrown out.

The organization also said nine people have been killed in hit-and-run crashes across New York City in the last two weeks

Our society just lives with this rate of death. Lives with, except for the victims.

There’s so much we could do to make things safer that don’t even involve digging up the earth and building more transit infrastructure.

Driver fleas could have been the problem I’m sure. Our family car got rear-ended by a woman driving a heavier car while texting and petting her dogs at 45mph on a 30mph zone on a straight street. Literally, driving while not paying attention makes you a possible criminal.

I often think i have now seen it all, and then today i was behind a lady who had a tablet mounted to the steering wheel, watching a tv show while driving. I wonder what it looks like when it goes through her skull when the airbag deploys and i hope no one else gets hurt.
