We’re neighbors with Sarah Huckabee Sanders and lots of folks let their dogs use the lawn outside her gates as a toilet - and I’m not saying I have encouraged my dog, or taken photos of it, or made it my Christmas card last year - but it’s been a topic, “should we all be letting our dogs shit on her lawn, since her lawn crew cleans it up?” Yeah, we should. But it was a good thought exercise.
You see, we might just need to cause death at any moment, one never knows, there’s too much life around all the time. Someone’s gotta keep that in check.
I genuinely hope so, but at the same time, polling shows conservatives and moderates don’t currently hate billionaires - they think of them as smart job creators. We have to change their hearts and minds on this, they are hearing nothing but propaganda from the billionaires themselves, all of it blaming brown and black people for their woes.
Killing multiple birds with one stone, we need to educate people on what’s actually happening instead of assuming they’ll just break down and join our side (which also applies to a number of other issues). We don’t have an education apparatus right now which is a huge miss. Education campaigns need to be running billboards and commercials explaining what we already know and take for granted.

There are scripts you can use to blank out all your comments and posts before deleting, but I guess they’re wise to that and can auto-restore the missing content. It kills me that my thousands and thousands of comments are still feeding the site and its AI, but I can’t go in and remove it. But them’s the ToS I agreed to because they had neat articles.
I used to love Apple, back in the weirdo 80s-early 00 days. I think the lamp iMac and G4 Cube were about the last interesting things they did. It’s hilarious seeing how horrible it’s gotten now. I liked Apple because they were underdogs. Now they’ve got one of the biggest market caps on Earth. Nothing interesting can endure mass appeal.
Cheese is weird because someone had to be like, well let’s go ahead and store some milk in the stomach of an animal, but also they forgot about it under a chair for 3 months and then, upon finding it, thought, “well let’s have a go anyway, despite it changing forms.” And then eventually someone realized if you stuck it in certain caves it became delicious. So much human history just in that one food product there.
Social media has mostly divided and isolated us. Twitter and some other platforms have been useful communications channels during unrest. But there could be other forms of communication just for that, since it’s all owned by billionaires now anyway, we need to stop imagining them as reliable tools.

What hasn’t happened is an IRL movement around a new party or leader. What has happened is lots of “divide the left” memes and posts. I do wonder who that sentiment serves the most.
Trump is trying to invalidate Biden’s pardons, despite that being clearly impossible. If he does pull it off, well, we can invalidate all of his as well.
I only ever see it the other way, progressives complaining about democrats not being pure enough, not being hardcore enough, while they don’t have to go actually campaign and win votes in those areas to understand why the democrats have to moderate themselves to appeal to actual voters.

I’m in a backass hillbilly state but I just made an appointment at the DMV and then had to wait all of 5 minutes when I got there. But, then they tried to argue every single piece of paper I brought which involved calls to supervisors so it wound up being a 40 minute ordeal. I swear they don’t want you to actually get it.
I finally got an air fryer just to see what all the hype was about, and although it does a nice job on some things, it’s not really any faster and it makes the whole house reek because it’s blowing air continuously, which I should have expected, but eww. Plus I can make way more fries on a baking sheet. I don’t really get it.
Yep I’ve recently learned that a crushed bumper can total a car, there’s thousands of dollars of electronics in there somehow, it’s insane. I miss that car.
I stole an HP from work, had been on a factory floor for years and was obviously a tank so I got a fresh toner and a few reams of paper and it’s been great ever since.
This one is a LaserJet m401dn but any from this era are good.
AI is on top of it
We were raised with “pride,” not necessarily racially or ethnocentric, but a broader sense that transcended such boundaries. I grew up in the 80s-90s in the midwest, and we were taught America was a “melting pot” of cultures, ideas, and races, and that we should look forward to a time when whites are not the majority because the lines will fall away, the average color will be brown as we all mix over the next generations, giving us less reason to fight. And we should look forward to it, because that’s been our story so far - broken, impoverished immigrants came here looking for opportunity, and found it through hard work and smart thinking, and then became a part of our shared tapestry. We were taught to be proud of this, that we were stewards of this tradition in the best, most advanced country in the world.
And now, well. The basest instincts of people have been brought to the surface and America now stands as an openly white nationalist, isolationist, fascist-tinged autocracy where the ideals I grew up with seem long antiquated.
So yeah hard not to feel ashamed of what’s happened to our shared identity in just a few decades.
I assure you it’s been a topic in their house, especially since they use those front gates to receive people in tuxes and ballgowns.
Also people use the light poles across the street to post nasty paper memes about Sarah, sometimes they get left up for weeks because they’re angled so the staff can’t see them.
