When i was a windows person many moons ago i ran into viruses once or twice. Kaspersky was the only av in those days that effectively cleaned them from my system.
Now i am a linux dude. Where there doesnt really seem to be an effective antivirus solution because, even though malware exists, it’s so fucking sophisticated and stealthy you may never know it.
Good thing the only way to bring anything to their attention is to somehow convince a beat officer who is dumber than a fucking bag of hammers that the highly technical issue youve noticed is accurate, and the have a detective who is about as tech savvy as a porto potty that the highly technical thing is illegal and real, who if youre lucky will pass it on to the fraud squad, whether or not your issue has fucking anything to do with fraud, who will then, if you’re lucky, and if you can keep down the three layer burrito of shit fuck stupid and ego you’ve eaten, MAY pass it along to the RCMP who might have someone that can understand the issue.
How the fuck is any of this taking these risks seriously?

Something I haven’t seen anyone else here (that probably won’t matter if you’re just doing basic gaming) is that bazzite is what is called an atomic distro - meaning that key system files are immutable (they can’t be altered) and certain directories are also read only.
It means that installing packages with a package manager can be a little bit trickier. Setting up a dev environment can be tricky. And certain other things can be more difficult.
There’s a huge chance this won’t matter at all to you, but in the event you run into issues like “this directory is read only” or something along those lines, that’ll be why.
Again, may never matter but something to keep in mind.
