I was full of sympathy for that kid until I found out he’s possibly been torturing and killing animals. From his supposed former behavioral therapist. It seems like he might have been lying though. He does have a photo of him with Barron and some other kids. I’m not going to link because I don’t have to spread possible misinformation.

I don’t know what to think. I hate living in the post-truth world.

The sad part for me was hearing his “I like my sootcase” viral clip. That kid has a strong Slovenian accent, and the only person around him with that accent is his mother. Even if she was his primary caretaker, his accent would have been dulled by the fact that he’s around so many Americans with American accents… But nope, that accent is every bit as strong as his mother’s. The poor kid likely never gets attention from anyone except Melania. He has almost certainly been isolated from everyone around him for a long time, because he has really only picked up on his mother’s accent.

And that kind of isolation will wreak havoc on a developing child.

Actually good that Trump put that in the world. It might be the last facet of reality that people can share. Red Caps would not believe anybody else characterizing the US as a monarchy but maybe this enables a debate as there is not longer the (or rather as easy of a) possibility to just say “no your initial issue is already not true”.

But then Red Caps often don’t even believe trump has said the things he said, delusion and projection on another level. So eeeeh… shit is probably fucked either way 🙃🤷‍♂️

You would think so, wouldn’t you? I have had the distinct displeasure of viewing Reddit’s r/conservative subreddit though, and to them this is just Trump “trolling.”

What’s that narcissist’s prayer again? “He didn’t say that. And if he did, it wasnt that bad. And if it was, it’s not a big deal. And if it is, that isn’t his fault. And if it was, he didn’t mean it. And if he did, America deserved it.”

I legitimately cannot get out of this country fast enough. I already have a plan in motion to escape, as a minority I can’t escape the constant anxiety that something terrible is going to happen to me here…

Fun Fact: The Roman Republic viewed regicide as a virtue. As I understand it, “he was trying to become king” was grounds for a justifiable homicide defense.

    • Yeah, even when they had Emperors the idea was so ground in that they never claimed the title of Rex.

Partly because Imperator was seen as better anyways but it was absolutely a thing.

Fun East Rome Best and Worst Rome Fact: the ERE Emperor claimed the title Basilieus basically the moment Western Rome fell. Guess what it means?

There’s another one listed here in this post about accepting federal funding for road management. Even if the state were to resist, Trump would then withhold federal funding for… everything if needed. To include road maintenance.

How can the federal govt stop X from happening in Y state?

            They can’t.

But they can threaten to drop and withhold funding for any of the numerous programs the state gets federal money for.

Same reason congestion pricing is hated everywhere until it’s implemented and people start seeing the benefits, people are cheap. Coincidentally also the reason congestion pricing works so well at regulating demand for a road and improving conditions.

Thing is…this is just another toll. It bills you the same as all the other tolls in the city. They just gave it a different name. That’s it. In the first days, people were bitching because they took the trains and the busses, but everyone who isn’t an asshole (those of us who don’t drive) didn’t even realize it took effect and everyone was like “woah, what’s going on? Is it a holiday? It was so quiet on my way to work. It was awesome.”

          But these motherfuckers

    • Cars checks all the boxes to them - helps with segregation, creates demand for oil, multiple vectors for environmental destruction, weird nostalgia and culture war fodder, another subsidy for rural/suburban voters, and it’s the embodiment of not giving a shit about anyone else’s and being a big boy. But yeah each of the individual factors boils down to spite.

I know that there were a significant amount of people that voted republican because of the lies that were told saying he’d fix the economy. Shit like this is something only the hardcore Republicans wanted. They are always boasting about winning, but if we had an election after all this shit came out I’m almost positive Trump would lose by a landslide. We’re already seeing some Republicans getting their faces eaten and are questioning their loyalty.

Basically what I’m saying is that I’m pretty sure the majority of the US does not want this. And I’m sure there are plenty within MAGA that are shitting themselves right now as they sit there afraid for their lives to go against any of this. Especially those that aren’t straight white men.

Lol, none of this is a surprise or new. Leopards and face eating was planned and expected. The majority of the US voted or abstained for him. This is the outcome. This is what they implicitly wanted. If what they voted for is different to what they thought, they haven’t been duped. The information was available. They have been wantonly ignorant. That’s not to say we should blame voters. That’s to say, hopefully people become more informed and accept that when Republicans allow the deplorable a to take over, this is what happens. When democrats try to take the high ground but don’t prosecute insurrection and treason and fix the supreme court, this is what happens.

History teaches us these patterns. It is why they are trying so hard to erase and rewrite history.
