The Southern Baptist only exist because the other Baptists were against slavery. Fuck every single one of them.

The only Southern Baptists I know were really into demonstrative shows of family unity at church, but would frequently get into massive screaming matches where they’d kick their teenage kids out of the house. They’re divorced now.

Do you know the best way to keep a Southern Baptist from drinking all of your beer on your fishing trip? Invite a second Southern Baptist.

My wife would agree. She has… so many womanly issues, but can’t find anyone to yank the damn thing out.

        She wants no children.

I, her husband, had a vasectomy before we ever met.

We have no use for the damn thing and it just causes so many problems.

My doctor is on that list! I don’t wanna openly say who she is because I don’t wanna completely doxx myself, but I can reply to any DMs with her name if anyone wants a Pa recommendation. She’s great. First gynecologist that hasn’t tried to pressure me into wanting kids.

If you are in Pa or willing to drive there, DM me. I can send you the info of my doctor. She’s really open minded and is one of the few in the state that will sterilize women (taking out the fallopian tubes) just because they want it.

I have recurring endometriosis and we’ve just decided that a total hysterectomy to handle the issue for good is the best next step.

Lol, you don’t have to be celibate to be willfully childless. I have plenty of friends that got the snip/knot before having a kid because they don’t want one. And they are some of the sluttiest motherfuckers I know (and they’d take that as the compliment it was).

Thanks for quoting this. It makes way more sense than the way I first read the headline as “Willful childishness.”

That stance against sports betting annoys me so much, because that means I can’t just look at everything they stand for and say I want the opposite.

Yeah, predatory ads for gambling really drive me crazy. Although I’d say my reasoning for being against it is pretty different from the Baptists.

Willful childlessness is such a hilarious concept. I’m rollin’ around here.

What are they gonna do? Check if you’re having unprotected sex sufficiently? Check how many miscarriages you’ve had? HAHAHAHAh. Fuckin’ donkeys.

    edit: Small gubment.

Story time - When I was a kid you had to get condoms through a family planning clinic or by crossing a border and many chose the latter. It was gone by the time I became old enough for it to be an issue for me.

Thankfully I live in the same country where there would immediately be government ending riots if there was any attempt to ban any form of birth control. Hell, the cops wouldn’t even stop the riots, they’d probably join in.

I hadn’t considered that though in fairness. It’s just such a crazy notion.

I came here after being permabanned from Reddit, but I still get posts removed. I recently looked at my Mod Logs for the first time, and was surprised at how many removals I had, some for really stupid stuff that would have gone through at Reddit.

Overall, though, Lemmy is a lot more permissive, especially compared to the new, post- HitlerPig Reddit.

Federated stuff like lemmy really ends to with a much wider range of mods / admins. There’s still a lot variation between mod teams on reddit too, but there’s a lot more similarities there between the biggest subreddits (especially because of “power mods”, and more overlap in userbase & culture).

Tldr expect weirder removal reasons here. And check where stuff is hosted when posting.

Welcome to lemmy. It’s a collection of federated communities. This community is hosted on lemmy.world, which employs similarly heavy-handed moderation tactics to Reddit.

However, like all lemmy instances the moderators are rather short-staffed so you’ll probably be fine unless someone goes out of their way to report your comment.

Southern Baptists? I think you left out all their other usual targets: Catholics, spicy food, jazz, orgasms for fun, bright colors not associated with flags or maybe a football team, female orgasms, singing, alcohol, drag shows, salads with less than 51% mayonnaise content, men using umbrellas, single mothers, showing people kissing on TV or movies, Jews, Muslims, really any brown person, wasabi, mangoes, and aged cheese.

Baptist like to pick people who drank, did drugs and slept around to teach sunday school. This is no joke. They get some ‘reformed’ asshole with questionable decision making skills to instruct children and warn them of the dangers of having a good time.

Oh, cool! As a willfully childless person (even though I live with my partner and we have the necessary bits to try for children), I finally get to be one of the cool groups being ostracized by these stupid religious nuts. Hey Queer people! We get to hang out! Let’s party!

(I’ve been watching porn the whole time. Just let me have my moment feeling special.)

I just had a look at the website of the church I once went to many decades ago, and it was interesting to see how all their bigoted positions were couched in layers of euphemism about “family”.

It’s as though their web guy tried writing what they really believed, read it back, and thought “we can’t say that out loud, it’s clearly unacceptable, how do we say this without saying it?”
